AR-15 magazine question

I just received some used 30 rd AR-15 magazines in the mail which I bought through the Auction Arms website.
I noticed one of them is a Sanchez mag and has a number and what appears to be a date stamped into the left side.
The number is 33710 with 7-91 stamped below it.

I've never seen magazines with markings like this. Can someone tell me what they mean?

There are some govt contract magazine suppliers that do stamp their mags with the lot# and date of manufacture. As per the crime bill new mags must also be stamped with either LEO/Military or at least must show a date of manufacture. It pays to inspect them when purchasing USGI mags, especially ones with the green follower as some are stamped with just a date and some are stamped "Law Enforcent/Military Use" .

I don't have a Sanchez mag to compare. All my mags are either Colt, Center or OKay. I would suspect that you would be ok with that date marked on your mag. I wouldn't worry unless it was 94 or greater. If in doubt, contact Sanchez.

"7-91" is the date of manufacture, July 1991. This mag is legal for civilians to own, as it was produced prior to 9-94. Enjoy!

33710 is the CAGE code (Commercial and Governmental Entity)
It can be used to identify the manufacturer which in this case is OKay.
It can be used to search for the manufacturer at the BINCS (Business Industry Number Cross-reference System) site: http://www.gidm.dlis.dla.mil/bincs/begin_search.asp

The date is the date of manufacture.

Looks like someone switched a floorplate.

Wow...great site. I just checked a couple of mag codes that I have to make sure they were authentic.

I'll have to do this more in the future when purchasing mags.

That's a pretty useful site. You're right about that floor plate. According to that site, this mag was indeed produced by Okay Ind.

I have and have had lots of those usgi mags and the info they are telling you is correct.
but remember this if you are a gi and you have alot of mags to clean you take them apart and put them back together and not all of them get put back into the same mag they came out of.
I even had a usgi mag with a bushmaster floorplate that came from a supply of used gi mags straight from the army. I think some gi had it with his own busmaster and got the floor plates switched.
