I know the standard operating procedure for sizing brass for an AR is to full-length re-size it. I shoot a 24" bull-barreled RRA from the bench and frequently use Berger VLD bullets which are set-up just off the lands and have to be loaded one at a time because they won't fit the mag. As long as the brass is used in this fashion in this rifle only, could I get away with neck-sizing only?

Thanks for any help.

Pete

NO! Don't risk that-they expand quite abit. At the least you are looking at vicious jams and at the worst case head separations.

Pete,

Do a serrosafe cast of your chamber to find out it's specific dimensions or buy an RCBS Precision Mic and measure your chamber. Then read from thetop of the left column, page 23 to the bottom of the left column, page 25 of the 3rd edition of the Metallic Cartridge Reloading book. Follow the methodology the author puts out within those pages and you'll be fine and get the results you're looking for. I did.

Regards,

Dave
