Good day,

Building an AR:
BCM Complete Upper; 16" SS410 midlength
BCM charging handle
Palmetto State Armory Lower Receiver
Palmetto LPK
RRA A2 Buttstock

I have been waiting and waiting for BCM to restock their BCGs but the anticipation is killing me. I've seen good things written about the Palmetto BCGs around the internet. I'm wondering if a BCM BCG would be likely to run better in the BCM upper or if I would be just as well off with the PSA one?
What if I bought the BCM carrier (they are in stock) and bought a bolt assembly from another company?

Does any of this matter or should I just grab the PSA BCG and be off to the range?

Thank you!

With some exceptions (Knights comes to mind) any Bolt will be compatible with any rifle. I have a Gun with a Noveske Barrel and BCM Bolt and another with a BCM barrel and a Colt Bolt. The only concern would be from swapping around used bolts since they do wear to a specific pattern.

One other thing I would caution you on. You are starting with a Quality upper. Don't hamper it with a questionable bolt. I don't have any experience with PSA so I cant' speak to the quality of the bolt but make sure you get one that is properly Shot peened and MPI tested.

Thanks Kwelz,

And yeah that's my other question; Anyone have any experience with PSA BCGs? Know who they source the production out to? How would they compare with, say, a BCM BCG?

No experience with PSA, but you might see if LMT has BCG in stock. I got one on fairly short notice a while back.
Note: you will have to call or email because you can't rely on the site info for in-stock or not.
