I recently got a Ruger SR762 never shot for a good deal. Test fired it and was shooting so low off the paper. Went to the 50 yd lane and started dialing it in. I have the front post as low as it will go and is still shooting two inches low of the bulls.

Seems these days people don't care about iron sights everybody is about putting optics on their AR but I want to keep it iron sights. Seems most sights detachable on the rear only adjust for windage. However here is a site discussing different sight options, they have a review of Global military gear sights that are AR-15A2 style with elevation adjusting rear sights.

What do you think, do you have any advice? I'd rather just replace the rear sight to have elevation capability and keep the front sight as is stock from Ruger

Is it a freefloat rail? if so, it might not be straight. Put a yardstick or other straightedge on the rail and make sure it is flat.

In any case, non-elevation adjustable rears are not optimal. Get a USGI Carry handle, and see if you can zero it with that. If the Ruger front sight is not milspec, get a Troy front or something else like it.

If you don't like the carry handle, get one of the sights like you saw or a Matech. The Matech might be nice since it can tuck under a scope if you want to use one on occasion. Obviously the .223 ranges will be way off. The military dumped a lot of these on the civilian surplus market. Check Ebay.

Wow, I had no idea that was a thing. They are $50 all over Ebay - if I had a need for iron sights, I'd be all over that.

Same AR, Matech and SWFA 10x on a PEPR mount (no, scope doesn't touch, it just looks like it does in the picture.

Matech again. I was part of the test group in the 198th Infantry Brigade at Ft.Benning testing those sights before wide deployment. They are tough as nails and are as accurate as fixed iron sights I used on the M16A2. I even have a set on my personal rifle.

thanks for the advice I'll consider contacting Ruger or getting Matech but first I'll inspect the rifle further

It could be something subtle like the barrel didn’t seat all the way into the receiver or the barrel may be ever so slightly bent. Thousandths of a inch off at the gun will be feet off at 50 yards.

What sights came on the rifle originally? I was under the impression the sr762 was a full length picatinny flat top that was shipped with removable flip up irons from the factory. Are both sights originals? If not it's easy enough to order a new one (or call Ruger as they might ship a free replacement). If it is an original, Ruger has very good service and will fix it.

Otherwise, it's a pretty standard set-up. I would look for a matched pair rather than mixing front/rear to ensure height works together. I prefer steel over poly for durability however doubt it makes that much difference. Bolt to rail and done.

just want to let you know I raised the sight some and filed it down and now it is dead on at 100 yards with certain ammo. Figuired I try that since I was going to replace them and it worked out.
