Has anyone or does anyone still make an AR upper (or complete rifle for that matter) in .45ACP?
i know of the conversions for 9mm but didnt know if anyone had done this before in .45

My first impression was WHY?? but it might make a good SD piece, although I'd rather have 223 as a main weapon and 45/9mm pistol as a back-up.

I had once found out about the Oly Arms 45 acp conversion but a buddy I trust about these things told me they weren't that well made so I passed.

the problem will be finding mags that work. Olympic use to use modified uzi mags. have you seen the price of the uzi mags lately? $100 and up. I think Calvary arms makes one that uses Glock mags. :D

I wish someone made an AR in .454 casull or .460S&W...yeah, rimmed catrtridges are a PITA, but think of the revolver/carbine combo potential. :D

to answer the why
i say why not?
i dont like 9mm enough to buy an upper in it
i already own .45s so common ammo for multiple guns is a big plus

and it would be a second upper for the .223 AR im planning on building anyway (if theres not any modding just to fire .45)

ok...
i dont want a dedicated lower

doesnt anyone make an upper and mags like they do for 9mm
