AR15 hammer spring orientation

Um ok which way is the spring supposed to go (can't tell with the online schematics ) Trying to do the famous 15 minute trigger job:

2nd picture is correct.


They will bend back as you push it into place. It is often a little tricky and difficult to put the hammer in place due to the fact that you will be working against the spring tension.

15-minute trigger job actually works. It will reduce the pull significantly. However, you risk having light primer strikes or some form of reliability issue. Some people have good luck, others do not. For some it works, but they don't trust it for duty.

I'm trying to figure out which hammer spring leg do I have to cut. The text states it's the "right" leg. But looking at it which way exactly?


(5) Clip the right leg of the Hammer Spring to a length of ¼".

i'm not the resident neg-boy or anything, but that seems like a bad idea. you might want to go ahead and buy the replacement spring before you clip it
