I have a friend who has an Arcus 94 HP clone and he believes the recoil spring is weak. During shooting he has complained that the slide seemed to operate slower than his other pistols. I too shot it and I can tell you that it does seem to lag in operation. Although it hasn't jammed yet, he is wanting to get a new recoil spring for it but can't find any replacement springs.

I told him to go to Wolff's site. He said they didn't have anything for the Arcus. I went to Wolff and ordered him a recoil spring for an HP since I thought it would work. Bad news, the recoil spring for the HP is too long for the Arcus. So, does anyone have an idea where to look for a replacement recoil spring for the Arcus 94?

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Is the gun a full size or a compact? If it is a full size you should be able to use a regular hipower spring. Wolff springs tend to be s little long at first. I think I had an 18lb. spring in mine. If it is a compact maybe a spring for a cz or witness compact would work.

If it's a full-size Arcus, then the Hi-Power recoil spring will fit without any issues.

Ok, thanks for the info. The next time we hit the range I'll bring the HP spring with me.

I have an Arcus and really like it. I was curious and I measured my 94's recoil spring. It is 4 & 1/4 inches long.

That's interesting, but they're different lengths when they're new and unused, and when they've been used for a while. Can't go by length alone.

Interesting fact for others -- the BHP recoil springs are a perfect fit for CZs, too -- and fit the guns better than the Wolff recoil springs, which are really for the Tanfoglio-made CZ-pattern guns.

The Wolff springs for CZs are made to fit the l larger diameter Tanfoglio guide rods. I only use BHP springs (from Wolff) in my CZs, now. (And, over the past couple of years, Wolff has started making them in lighter weights to accommodate CZ owners...
