Are AR pistols in 7.62x39 still a no-no?

Just wondering. I heard the BATFE didn't like Olympic Arms version back in '93 and haven't seen anything similar since.

I think it would be neat to own a AR pistol in this caliber, but it would have to be very custom because I want an 8" bbl. and a piston/recoil spring assembly like a Sig 556.

Edit: I found this on Gunbroker, but it doesn't really tickle my fancy. Looks like something is wrong with the pin above the trigger guard, like someone applied heat to the reciever to squeeze it in.

Also found a pre-ban OA-93 in x39 on arf.com. Nobody's interested because it's $2300 (supposedly 1 of 7).

Doesn't matter about the pin: "does not come with lower ", and YOU ARE BIDDING ON A SAOD 7.5 IN(ch) UPPER IN 7.62X39,

No the ban is over. You can own a pistol AR. (If local laws allow.) Go to Ar15.com
You only need a lower and about build anything.
