Are gasoline prices affecting your shooting?

The club is three miles from home so gas isn't a big deal. Shooting a lot more .22's lately though.

I think the gas price has affected everything - less drive to hear and there, use the Tundra less, spend less on ammo, etc. It gets worse.

You can bet your bottom dollar that gas prices are affecting my shooting habits. I can walk to where I shoot...but I drive everywhere else. One way or another, the extra $50 a month on gas is limiting my shooting.

I normally stock up on ammo every pay period. As it stands I have several years of different calibers in my safe if....I only use it for hunting as the season dictates. I normally use about half a box 3 rounds to check my zero and I shoot a couple of extra rounds at a rock several hundred yards away 635 exactly according to the laser. Just like to see if I still got it, and normally it only takes one round to drop my deer or elk.

A few months ago I would fill up with about $70 bucks my truck holds 35 gallons and normally I filler up at half a tank now for about the same amount. It is a psychological thing but hurts less. The extra money that I would have used to fill up the tank is what I used to buy ammo, now it goes for gas. Like most I shoot more rimfire.

Yes, I go to the closer range rather than the better range.

Thanks a lot, oil speculators! :barf:

While gas prices aren't pleasant, that's been the least of my problems. Keeping myself employed has been the real challenge the past couple years. My gun club is only 5 miles away, but the price of reloading components has been an issue.

No, but flooding water has stopped it for a while at the river, where lots of people go.
The range clubhouse is probably flooded also, as it was a year ago.

Lots of retired guys and others were at the range recently, with fuel prices within pennies of where prices are now.

Oh yeah, I've cut back on shooting a lot in the last 2 years. When I bought my F150 it was $50 twice a week now it's $80 twice a week. Just bought a little VW Jetta to ease the pain. The Jetta won't make it to my range.
