Are Redding and Forster bushings interchangable?

Nope. The Redding bushings are 3/8" long and the Forster bushings are 1/2" long. Redding and RCBS are interchangeable though.

Redding, Wilson, and RCBS bushings interchange. Too bad the Forster bushings do not. The Forster bushing style die and the bushings are good stuff, but proprietary.

Yep. The Forster bushings are the same diameter as the others but are longer and have a chamfer on the bottom end. I only use dies other than Forster on those cartridges where Forster doesn't make dies, or bushing dies if I want them. At this point that pretty much means 6.8SPC (Forster does not make any dies for this cartridge), .308 Marlin Express (only Hornady made dies when I started loading this one and they work well enough for a short to medium range hunting rifle) and .270 WSM (Forster doesn't make a bushing die for this one).

Since I don't have multiple bushing dies of different brands in the same caliber, I really don't care that the bushings don't interchange. I buy the bushings that I need of the type that I need and I'm good.
