They seem to be "gunbroker out", meaning you can get one online if you really want one and are willing to pay extra, but probably won't see one in a local shop.
I'll probably swap my gen1 for a gen2 someday to get the threaded muzzle, but that can wait until the gottahavitnow crowd has thinned and the prices come down.
I did just do a search on GB with gen 2 in the title and got 6 or 7 hits. Prices are a bit on the high side as you said. I have to wait anyway but it is good to know that they made it to market so quick. If any of you have a new one I would like to know how you like it.
CZ223, I bought a 9mm S2K G2 last month and I like it for my truck gun. No function problems at all. It has been redesigned with many improvements over the first model.
I have a first gen Glock 9mm configuration, with red lion front sight, improved rear sight and, a couple other mods that I picked up for $425, about 6 months back. I like it a lot but I really want one in 40 because I have 3 G23s. It seems like they listened to what the market was asking for and did all the right improvement including opening up the ejection port. I hope they went to a lighter spring for the 9mm models. I know they are supposed tob coming out in a couple different colors as well so I might have to wait for a green one.
there seems to be one on Gun Broker that is at $489.00 with 22 hours left to bid. No one has bid on it. It is about 2 hours from where I live. I am tempted to buy it and duracoat it later. The 9mm Glock models are up to $640 with 2 days left to bid. Why don't they offer one in 45 ACP.
I got super lucky and found a gen 2 in glock 22 config on gunbroker and paid $410 for it. Heard kel tec has upped production on them so hopefully the market will be flooded with them and take the gougers out of the equation.
The gen1 was very common in stores until people realized what a neat little gun they were and started buying 'em all. I passed over at least a dozen in various configs before getting mine.
KT claims the Gen2 is faster to build, which should mean even more going out the door.
It is like the KSG...the fact that you couldn't find one in '13 doesn't mean you can't find 'em now. There was a time when they never made it to retail because everyone had a waiting list. Nowadays most gun stores have one for $799, and it is possible to find them for less.
From another board: Guys, there's no trick to finding a Gen2 Sub....I just got out and looked.
I got on a main drag through town and started going in every gun or pawn shop I could find.
Only took me a few days to find what I wanted at a price I could live with. YMMV.
