are these cleaning tips even good?

    made by outers called rifle bore brush made from phosphor bronze.. wouldnt this brush damage the bore of the rifle? the brush is quite hard..

    The bronze brushes are fine...it's the steel brushes you usually don't want to run down the bore. Steel is safe for the chambers in your rifles and semi-auto handguns, and the cylinders in your revolvers, but never run steel brushes down the bore of anything unless you absolutely have to. I've only used them for very badly leaded, fouled or rusted bores.

    Outers has been making those, and other very good cleaning equipment, for about 100 years.

    Bronze bore brushes have been GI issue cleaning equipment for about, forever.

    If there was ever a problem, we would know about it by now!
