I'm really not all that concerned about this website being monitored by governmental agencies, although that is a possibility. But I do know that if I ever have to use a gun in self defense and the the prosecutor, for whatever reason, wants to do a very thorough investigation, he's going to be looking at the forums I post on and what I post.

So how many folks have you seen boast that "If I catch someone in my house, he's not going to live to tell his side of the story" or "I don't care about shooting to stop -- I shoot to kill"? How many have you seen boast that "I don't care about any 'no guns' sign -- concealed means concealed" or " Sure I carry in the Post Office"? Any way, it's not my problem.

This is a public place open to anyone, and the folks who read your posts are for the most part complete strangers. I simply recognize that and conduct myself accordingly.

Well, I have a very old Savage .22, the SKS, Mini 30, two MN 44s and a recently-acquired LE "Jungle Carbine". Am not trying to boast, but to make a point.

As a hedge against further cost increases, bought mostly last spring/summer and early fall were:
5,000 rds. of x39,
2400 .223,
1900 x54R and recently,
1,300 of .303. and 1,500 of .22 last fall. Am a very late-bloomer with guns.

As somebody who is not involved in illegal activities, I'm amused by how many people are afraid to list personal, private property, even in approximate numbers, as long as their address can not be learned (by potential burglars).

...and if they are ''flagging'' folks who are stockpiling ammunition [a very real possibility] you just appeared on the ''list''. Something to think about, anyways.

Sometimes the paranoia of people on the net just makes me want to pull the freakin' connection out of the wall. Do you worry about getting hit by lightning? How about West Nile Virus,Aids, Swine Flu, Space Aliens, Lock Jaw, Rabies,Hang Nails..............................

My sentiments exactly. Our best camouflage is our very numbers. At least that's my hope. They may have a list, but I'm betting it's so long and diverse geographically, that they really can't do anything about it. We simply outnumber them. Kind of like ants in your yard. You kill one mound 3 others pop up. I know it's not a great analogy, but it's the best I can come up with right now.

Besides, as a buddy once told me. "You're name is on so many yellow forms they're coming for you already." So, to heck with it. May as well enjoy my 1st amendment rights until the black helicopters get here to take me away.

No, but . . . It is curious to me why some list there guns at end of posting. I realize that its not likely someone with evil intentions will know you or know your address or will be able to do you harm, but still . . . why?

No

I am quite sure that they, Obama's strong civilian force, know that if they come for my weapons I will gladly surrender them bullets first all +/- 15,000 of them starting with the .308 and then all calibers down to the .22cal.
Obama has already branded me and all other veterans a national risk and he is correct. We will fight to the end for our right to have firearms.

1. I make postings that are a reflection of my personality. If they were read in a court of law I would be proud to stand behind them.

2. Yes. I work for Big Brother and monitor this forum all the time...

... of course my reading of this forum is on my own time and for my own entertainment. My slice of Big Brother's pie could care less what you post.

My list is what I want, not what I have. Wanna trade? PM me. :D

(1) Yes. and...

(2) Probably.

Don't post anything you wouldn't put on a postcard.

But that applies to all electronic media...

IMO,
Les

big negative on that one, if you are referring to that DHS intel analysis report. O and his buddies have nothing to do with some guy/girl sitting in a cubicle at DHS writing an intel report on homegrown extremism. Even the DHS director Janet N doesn't know what assessments her agency is working on until they get published. Most of those big execs at these agencies don't give marching orders to the ditch diggers in these agencies, they just manage the mid-level managers, where the mid-level managers manage the low-level managers who manage the worker bees.

Yes, I'm concerned about posting my true feelings on political subjects at times. I do not post pictures of firearms. I try to stay away from the political threads now for the most part.

Nah, I ain't worried. I'm sure they're watching, though, when we're all on trial for thought crimes, shout out your screen handle so I can say OOOOH! That was YOU!

Question #1- NO

Question #2- You must remember, we have persons registered on this
forum from all walks of life; this is too include gansta's, crooks, sex
offenders, police officers, attorneys, federal agents, and the like.

You must be warned, BEWARE OF YOUR POSTING's; particulary on
giving out information that could be determental to your well being~! ;)

WOW!!

I am not worried about the government or local police force, but I wouldn't say something stupid based on principal.

The only thing I am worried...and surprised about is the fact that people replying to threads can be fairly closed minded. All I said is that I have hit targets at 500 yds on different days with different conditions, but most people are very passionate that it was sheer luck, that it is nearly impossible to compensate enough to "lob" the bullet there using shooting skills acquired over many years of shooting.:banghead:

:mad:I DON'T MAKE THOSE STATEMENTS JUST FOR AN EGO BOOST!!!

Only person I am worried about seeing this stuff is my wife.

She still thinks there's just that one rifle, I just keep changing the wood and plastic parts back and forth :)

Just a question of curiosity, but does anyone ever think twice about what they post in terms of pictures or statements or information about themselves on a public website such as this?
yes. I will not be posting my address or SSAN publicly, or other similar info.

Part two.. do you think this website is monitored by any official authority looking for ... whatever?
Of course it is. The Obama administration has made it clear anyone who does not toe the line is suspect and is to be treated that way. I am not too concerned about it. For the most part we stilll have the rule of law. If that goes away, its not like it matters all that much.

Its not hard to get lists of the enemy for the current administration. Plenty of suspects. People who have received hunting and fishing licenses, that belong to the NRA or other subversive groups like the Republican or libertarian parties, 4473 forms, tax payers, campers (they keep lists of them too), gun registrations, etc.

How many members here are sitting at a correctional facility's library computer posting about guns they'll never be allowed to own? Surely we've got at least one timer here whose only method of enjoying the 2A is through gun discussions on this site.

I'm not concerned about the government but I am a little careful about what impressions I may give a potential employer.

Do a search for NSA or FBI and Carnivore. I think it's pretty likely that rather than specific sites and forums being monitored, the backbone of the Internet is scanned for key words or phrases in some way.

Check this out
