Are your guns changing as you age?

I've tried about everything, but now have a strong preference for basic-looking 1911s with good triggers. Doing lots of shooting with just ONE type of gun has made me a much, much better shooter.

Yup!
Started young with revolvers.
Went to autos later.
Now back to revolvers.

Also, .22 to BIG to .22...:D

Has it been a century already?:p

I've always had a fondness for military rifles and I don't know if its my age or the political climate but the last 10 years I have focus my purchases towards semi-auto military type rifles. I still have scars from when I was got caught flatfooted when the "last" ban went into effect. It was great for sellers but poor on buyers.

I find that I am not really interested in Evil Black Rifles anymore..instead I am more interested in Bolt Action Hunting Rifles, Lever Action Rifles and Single Shot Rifles

For Handguns..I am more interested in Single Action Revolvers.

I went from buying semi-auto handguns to revolvers. That's all I think about when I go gun shopping. Also I have got in to C&R guns.

When I was a wee pup, I was heavily into Wondernines and other high-speed, low-drag gear. Now I gravitate more towards wheelguns, specifically pre-1998 S&W, and 1911s. Next on my shopping list: another Browning HP.

My collection has changed from handguns to rifles. I still have the handguns.

I'm refining both handgun and rifle collection so when I retire, I would need anything except ammo.

I used to be a semi auto nut, before I knew anything about guns. I thought that a 45 auto was more powerful than a 44 magnum. I now am a revolver man.

With multiple heart attacks and being left handed,I have not fired a long gun or a shot gun for years.Shoot regular with 1911's and 9mm,along with .22 target pistol.Thinking of trying .22 rifle again.

Been evolving since 1959 and continuing. Retired with a RBPP (round blued people popper) and despite dalliances with all the other stuff have found true happiness with good revolvers.

To paraphrase Townsend Whelen, a good .22 is never a mistake. Neither is a good .357--or an '06.

My military/LEO/ninja days are over so now it's CCW/fun time.

It's easy to get sidetracked. Expensive, too.

I've been drifting from brute force handgun cartridges such as the .454 Casull and hot .45 Colt to more subtle and effective rifle cartridges such as the 8x57 and 7x57. I like to hit what I'm aiming at and I don't like dislocating my shoulder to do it.

Turns out the modern spitzer bullet was a really good invention!

Like some of you, I'm finding I'm losing interest in semi-autos and gravitating back to revolvers. Preferably blued revolvers. Bought my first one almost thirty years ago and looks like I've bout come full circle. Also starting to wonder if I really need so many guns, or would it make sense to downsize to nice pieces I really want to keep. Maybe a dozen or so?

They keep saying with age comes wisdom. Got the first part - still waiting for the second part to kick in.

I have noticed myself leaving the auto pistols at home when I head for the range . I am buying more revolvers now and shoot them allot . My most favorite right now being a 586 and 686 S&W . I don't know if its age or just tired of picking up brass but it's sure nice to just dump the empties in my hand and reach for another six rounds . :D
