Arisaka Type 99 help

Hey guys need your help. A friend just sent me this picture of a type 99 firing pin. It looks like that’s a crack just in front of what I assume is the cocking piece. And yes the spring is broken too.

I’ve never owned an Arisaka so I’m not 100% sure.

Can anyone out there verify that’s what’s going on here.

Im surprised the spring was damaged.....did some put two separate springs in that thing?

Thanks Wulf! Don’t know about the springs. Almost looks like 2 were used to replace 1. We don’t really know the history of who might have worked on it. The fellow who owns it just inherited it. He was told that something was wrong with the firing pin and it hadn’t been fired in a long time. I’m trying to help him out with it and get it shooting again.

Id go after that firing pin tho, they are pretty expensive when you can find them, and you might get that one for a reasonable price.

Id probably look into what caused the damage also, Aris arnt the cheapest things to keep fixing lol.
