here in Florida, there's a bill in the works somewhere (don't know too many details) to legalize open carry as well! Maybe some day...!

I would love to see an Arkansas open carry, but I foresee it being kicked around in commitee after commitee by the legislators until they think we have forgotten about it. That way they won't have their vote on record and they can keep on saying "We're working on it, maybe next year, keep voting for me."

The answer to that is to send your rep and senator a clear message -- no open carry, no re-election, no excuses.

I like it, but I fear that it will get hammered for not listing any "prohibited places". If I read tit correctly it would allow a person to Carry openly anywhere and I doubt that will fly with the legislature.

That may be covered in the "except at otherwise prohibited" part. I'm sure they'll except schools, gov't buildings, and all the stuff that's prohibited for CHL.

Arkansas legislators let the government types from the highway dept, ASP, and other state govt lazy types do too much of the law writing for the concealed handgun licensing laws. It is quite evident with the long 20 places off limits to those with a concealed handgun license. The legislators are mindless and want to claim they are 'pro gun' but do the bidding for ASP, AHTD, and the rest of state government who wants to make the licensing system as much of a pain/off limits as possible. Nice that the county prosecutors, ASP, AHTD, and their buds can carry wherever they want.
