Locally there is a Arlington Ordnance M1 carbine for sale. I did some internet searching and found that Arlington Ordnance rebuilt Korean M1 carbines back in the 90's. The price on this one isn't too bad considering what I've been seeing them sell for on the internet. The seller is asking &750 OBO.
Always had a desire to own one, is this one worth it?

Here is the only picture I have of it.

Arlington O. was a bit like Federal Ordnance and National Ordnance--their primary concern was getting inventory boxed up and out for sale.
So, they were hit-or-miss, based on what they started from.
Far, far, better than the Blue Sky imports on average (many of which barely had the cosmoline scraped off before boxing).

At $750 you ought to be good, as, unless a full-on lemon, ought flip for at least $800, should you want to do so. That's a pretty clean example of a Carbine from the 1950-1970 era in military service.

Check the muzzle for erosion before you buy it. More than 2 on a ME gauge, walk away. I had an carbine with 3 ish. The barrel was finished. I now have one with 1.5. Good for 200 yards on an 18" plate. I haven't checked the MOA because my eyes aren't that good anymore but I think it's about 2-3 MOA.

Edit. IIRC the first carbine I had was an AO. That was the one with the worn out barrel.

Arlington was an importer, not a rebuilder or manufacturer like Fed. Ord. or Natl. Ord. Any rebuilding most likely took place at a Korean arsenal prior to importation.

These should use a GI receiver and either USGI or Korean military service replacement parts.

$750 is an excellent price these days for any gun with a USGI receiver, even if it needs some work. Check and see who the actual manufacturer is, it will be stamped on top just behind and below the rear sight.

I saw many GI carbines in fair to rough shape at the show today, none under $1000, the nicest, a Winchester, had $2,300 on the tag......

Concur with Nightlord40k. Korean Aresenal rebuilt. I trust them more than Fed Ord. I'd buy it.
