Armed Citizens

It is impolite to ask someone who has been there and done that. What we have done and saw we only talk about it with those who have traveled the same road we have.

Thanks Blue, that's more like what I was after. I also noticed "Lessons From Armed America." Again I can not express enough how I am sorry to have offended. That was never my intention. And I sincerely ask all of you to forgive my offense.

Veterans tend to be rather chatty

With other veterans who where there, and did that, and who understand what has happened,

I understand that similar happens with cops
But some dude popping off the the question 'EVER KILL SOMEBODY'
will get the same response my recruiter, who had been there and done that (read his metals once I learned how...)

He told the teacher, "I'm sorry, but please ask his parents to teach him manners before somebody is forced to teach them to him." He was quite proud of not uttering a single curse word in the delivery.

It's not a polite question, rather like asking if your sister or mother is a good lay, not a topic of polite discussion.

Oh crap, Tuner just made me put Pepsi in my nose.

I find the best, most objective accounts you can read of actual armed encounters, with good analysis, are what Ayoob has published, and submits to American Handgunner monthly, and I understand he has also published some books of them.

camar: I may not have traveled the same road that you mentioned, (which it is unclear if you have travelled it) but I did watch my father-in-law die in my arms, which was no fault of my own, except my efforts at rescue breathing were woefully inept. So I have travelled the same road as you mentioned, only in a different village. And I will gladly talk to anyone who will endure with me, because someone may, one day, have the words of comfort, or encouragement, to dispel most the grief I will carry till I join him in that final day we will all meet. But until that happens I will try to endeavor others to release any demons they may be battling by telling their tail in a friendly atmosphere where they won't be judged by others, and maybe they will release some of the pain they carry. Then again maybe not, but I thought this was an open forum where people could express themselves and be as real as they feel comfortable without judgement, but maybe I expected too much from "The High Road."

Sniff sniff..... ugh!!! Yep that smell is still there. You are right though man, the mods here are a bunch of loose cannons. I have no idea why they would not just create a new subforum "Today's confirmed kills". I mean, we would need proof of course. Pics of gun used and pics of the deceased. That sounds very much like "high road" material to me. I apologize from all of us here that are all for this " confirmed kill" subject that you are so anxious to talk about.

Seriously though, this is not a open forum to express yourself. This is gun forum. You can find out anything you could ever want to know about nearly any gun you could possibly have here on this site. What you are still continuing to ask though is inappropriate for a respectable forum such as this. You will have to find you a pretty seedy forum to find people talking about the people they had to bust a cap in or whatever you exactly have in your mind. There are probably members here from your area there around Vegas that could refer you to a doctor that could help you release those demons in a friendly environment.

JesusIs - Joking aside, I think you'll find that people who have been involved in real-life gunfights are not exactly keen to relive them.

This pretty much sums it up. The OP probably meant no offense but it really is a sort of private matter and not something usually discussed in public like this. Yes, it's important sometimes for stories of lawful defense with a gun to be told to counter the arguments of the antis, but it has to be done carefully.

Asking folks for their personal stories usually doesn't get a very good reaction.

It's a forum to discuss the lawful use of firearms, not a cathartic outlet. Yes you are free to ask the question, as you did, but others are free to refuse to respond. Take that as a sign that people just don't want to talk about it. Nothing personal.
