arthritis and the brand

I have arthritis and fibromyalgia and don't have any problems shooting my Sig P938. Yes getting the last 1 or 2 rounds in the magazine can be a chore at times. The Sig 938 is very easy to rack the slide and recoil is pretty manageable for a small pistol. It is my EDC.

I can think of 2 right off. The H&K VP9 It has two extended "wings" on the back making it easier to grasp and pull back the slide

The easiest by far it the Browning Hi Power. Insert the magazine. Place the dust cover against a solid object. Push the pistol forward until the breech passes the round in the magazine and let it go.

The slide goes back far enough to load a round from the magazine. No need to grasp and pull

The easiest slide I have ever used is on a SIG P-250. Alas, a bit large for CC. The P-938 being heavier should recoil less. It is also more concealable. I hope you are able to "test" a few choices before deciding.

Just a question, and you are still NOT that old, but can you get a wrist brace or something to help you with pain associated with shooting?

I am 62 with one bionic shoulder, one bionic knee with plans to do the other knee soon. I find I have been shooting 9mm in my CZ75B to me the most comfortable combination lately.

My wife and MiL have damaged hands and wrists which are constantly painful. They both shoot 32 H&R magnum revolvers easily and prefer them for SD.

Even though I am a CZ fanoldman, the small 1911 pistols are easier to rack. But to me double-action pistols are much easier to use for SD. Of the two you mentioned, those to me are the most relevant aspects.

Dont have a 938, but do have a micro cdp and two p238s (.380s) slide is easy to rack on all of these, and recoil is manageable, extremely manageable in the 238.

My wife has Carpal tunnel, and had trouble with the lc9s and lcp she used to carry, she now carrys her p238, and on good days a Kimber micro CDP

She can rack and shoot both without issue - recoil is her biggest concern, but she did test the slides extensively to get what she wanted.

Yeah they cost a bit more, but, they get the job done and she can use them.
