was doing a little window shopping and spotted a SS 44mag Astra sporting a 2.5 inch barrel . i don't have any personal experience with their wares but do remember that they had a good reputation before Spanish politicians forced them and other gunmakers out of business. would i kick myself if i pass up the $500 price?
meant to post under revolvers, careless of me sorry.

The John Jovino, Inc of NYC guns I had experience with were blued and weighed 41 ounces. The one tested had a 3 pound 3 ounce SA pull and 10.5pound DA pull. It has a S&W style front sight with the red plastic insert and Pacmyer round but type grips. Recoil with the old Remington 240s was '"brisk."

The gun was reviewed in the Dec 1987 issue of GUNPRO magazine from CFV Publishing......good luck on finding a back issue of that!

I seem to recall that there was some sort of problem if the gun was to be fired with the gun rolled over so the sights were at the 7 o'clock position, like binding or some such that was noted when the gun was being used to train for continuing a fight from the ground in the event of a assault. May have been a problem with that particular gun.
