At what point would you not buy locally?

I will Buy online merely for connivence. in the ft Riley we have 4 local shops and only one in my opinion has outstanding service and prices. The one I used to go to is ran by a retired soldier from the fort, started out as a car shop turned into a gun store once the other GS down the street screwed a cancer patient out of a good handgun.

This guy (ogdens best) just built a range and has a huge selection of firearms to rent to include machine guns.

I bought a Fnx from this guy for 660 bucks had to sale it, only shot 100 through it he gave me 300...put it on the rental rack seriously! I bought a 336c remlin from these fools wasn't happy at all and I could not get a good return or trade it in for equal value.

I take that same weapon to another range ( Godfrey's) and I traded it in for a brand new out of box gun for free...

Ogdens range is kinda ragady and smells like lead and it's hot in the summer. Godfrey's is a million dollar gem has excellent filtration, service, good looking women, prices with life time warranty and overall quality is better.

I think buying local depends of service quality of product. I'm moving to NYS and I have to jump through hoops for a handgun and do the same for a good range( most ranges are outside unless pistol and small bore)

I can't say anything about LGS yet but I'd have to say I'm not really optimistic.

The mom and pop places can't buy as cheap as the big guns stores, but I try to give them as much of my business as possible. I've seen Gander Mountain price guns over MSRP. Figure that one out.

I will buy local when I find a shop that wants my business. I've only got one local place I'll buy from, aside from the less-than-local (hours away) vendors at the gun shows. The rest of my purchases are online.

I'm curious how many of you buy locally no matter the price and if not, at what point do you order it from somewhere else?

In most cases I will buy locally. I won't buy local no matter what, but it usually works out. I'd say that 75% of the time I buy locally. It depends on the initial price as to when I start looking elsewhere, but they've normally got $50 or so on most guns. I look for older guns that aren't in production and they usually handle the transfers.

I'd buy online before I bought anything from Dick's. I'll buy some reloading supplies from Bass Pro or one of the LGSs if I do not want anything in quantity, otherwise I order online. I'll buy some HD ammo from some LGSs, but not many as they're simply too high.
