Activism and NFA are dealing with this issue within their different scopes. Activism has a clear mission to fight the antis and therefore narrows the range of any discussion to that mission.
Because they can't get any laws passed at the federal level to stop home built firearms so they are going after the home build market this way using illegal rule reinterpretations. Oh and their days of unlimited deference on rules with criminal penalties may be numbered so they are going all out because 1 of 2 things will happen. Best case scenario for us all the gun rule reinterpretations roll back to 1968 but before that they run the home built market in to the dirt so it will take years to really get going again or best case for them the rule reinterpretations get locked into place the day the case is lost, which seems unlikely as it would be an invitation tocontinue doing it.
