I'm thinking of getting the ATI talon stock for a mossberg 590a1, with the intention of using the stock it comes with and getting a Magpul one later on. So I have a few questions.

Will the ATI be compatible with any aftermarket stock?

Will anything about the ATI (besides) the recoil pad reduce recoil?

Is the "professional" version worth the extra money?

Will I be able to mount a longer rail to the bottom of the forend?

And does the whole package have EVERYTHING I need to mount aftermarket stocks?

I know about the Mesa Tactial adapter, but it's too expensive.

Well, the first thing you would find out is a pistol grip stock like the Talon, and a receiver tang mounted safety like the Mossberg don't work together worth a darn.

You can't reach it to use it quickly with your fist wrapped around a pistol grip.

That type of stock is best used with a Remington 870 or other shotgun with the safety where it should be, in the trigger guard.

I know, I'm prepared for that. Definitely not buying a new shotgun.

pistol grips on mossbergs dont work well with the slide release either. Unless you go with a birds head pistol grip you loose the ergonomics that makes the mossberg design so great. both the tang safety and slide release are out of reach with out moving your hand.
