Atlanta area ranges

Ok Atlanta folks, the weather is warming up a bit so we should try to get a date set up for a meet. I've met a few folks during swaps and such and it would be nice to have a range day to blast away and share war stories. Just want to keep this thread alive...

BTW, for FFL transfers contact Chris at Semperfiarms.com - $20 per 4473 (up to 3 guns) and $5 off for GCO members. He's in Canton about 10 miles North of Towne Center Mall...

First time I saw this thread.
I am on the South side, south of the 285 in the City of Stockbridge. I shoot at Georgia Range and Gun in Forest Park. The range isn't the greatest but other than Audrey's it's the only range around were you don't need a membership.

I started shooting blackpowder firearms and haven't been able to find a public range on the Henry County were I can shoot. Thank goodness that my Brother in law lives on a piece of land were we can shoot. However, I would like to find a nice range with tables, fixed distant targets were I wouldn't have to impose on my BIL. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just looked at the weather for Saturday March 1st and it looks good with a high in the mid-60s.

I have a lot of newly acquired toys I need to shoot some more and I also need to finish breaking in my Kahr P45. Anybody up for a meet & greet this weekend at Creekside? BTW, I'm not a member so can I pay a daily fee???

Hey Guys, I am on the south side of town in Henry County and want to shoot a a outdoor range which has benches and targets out to 100 yards. Which range public range is closest?

Mac, Here's probably your best bet:

Shooting Range: Clybel WMA
Location: Jasper County
Facilities: 100 yard and 50 yard ranges
Directions: From Mansfield: Take GA Hwy 11 South for 2.5 miles. Turn left onto Marben Farms Road, travel 1.5 miles. Turn left at range sign.
Range Hours: Monday- Saturday: 10:00 am- 6:00 pm
SUNDAY: CLOSED

I can't say anything about it since I've never been there.

Otherwise, I understand there is a nice club (South River Gun Club) in Covington, but it is not "public" and requires an annual membership fee.

Hi guys, I'm glad I bumped into this thread since my wife and I will be relocating to the Atlanta area later this year. I have been looking for Atlanta-area ranges on line and have found info on a few, and this thread has pointed out a few others. Hopefully we will end up finding a home in a place that will make it feasible to travel to some good ranges during weekends and evenings!
