Went out shooting today on our property my fiancee, my son, my best friend and his son. It was awesome! We sighted in my long range .308 build, my sons first rifle (centerfire) .243 build(bobbed the butt stock 1inch and shortened the barrel to 20in wearing Leupold glass, shot my S&W M&P shield 9, my freshly fixed 1953 JC Higgins Model 31 .22lr, my sons 1973 Glenfield Model 25, my buddies EAA Witness 9mm and his moms Walther PK380. My fiancee had never shot anything before but she wanted to try my shield and the PK380 because she wants to get a gun. Now we're looking at PK380's today.
This is my fiancees first target. 7rnds in my Shield and 7 in the PK380.

My JC Higgins needed a charge handle, guide rod, recoil spring, and a round elevator spring since I robbed then to sell on a 64 Ted Williams I had. I tell you what this thing is dead on. Here is her shooting it at a 5in steel plate at 100yds just ringing it consistently!

Spotting for my son

A family day at the range is what it is all about! For a few hours of time and a shoe box of ammo you have guaranteed some shooters for life!
BTW after they are all hooked on shooting you may instruct on classic shooting positions: standing, kneeling, sitting and prone. ;)

My son is awesome at shooting sitting and prone. He's kinda small for standing buy we do work on it. But we will be working on it before ths upcoming deer season. Yesterday he was like "think you can hit that swinging plate standing?" We were at 100yds so I picked up his 243 with his little 2-7 Leupold Vari X II and let that 5in plate ring then picked up my JC Higgins and probably went 80-85% on the 5in swinger :D

Any day at the range is a good day, even in so-so kind of weather. Good to see all of you having a great time.

I had a rough day at the range. First time back after shoulder surgery, arm still in a sling. One handed, weak handed is rough.

On the upside, took a friend and his girlfriend. She shot more than either os us as we ran her through all my handguns so she could see what she liked. Her favorite was the Beretta Neos, was not a fan of the bigger stuff yet, although she did knock down a plate from 15 yards on her first shot with my Security Six.
