Anyone here have any experience with these ?

They also come with a BT version.

I have had and currently have electronic muffs and enjoy the ability to hear range commands and hear others at the range, etc. Looking for something other than muffs. In the ear protection is not cheap and wondering if anyone has used the above.

    Thanks,

Those look cool. What turned me off is the built in battery. 12hrs active hearing protection... when they are brand new... and most devices like those never live up to there battery life promise for me, even when new. After a year how long will the battery last? If you leave them in your range bag and forget to recharge them for a month will the battery go permanently dead? Only 4hrs of bluetooth when they are brand new. $169 for the bluetooth version... "for me" the worth just doesn't pencil out.

A version with a replaceable mini Li-ion battery would be needed to get my money. I could always have a battery on the charger ready to go... just like my Li-ion flashlights. When the battery finally dies I could toss the battery and replace it rather than toss the whole $169 device... or just use it as a $3.99 passive hearing protection.

P.S. My cell phone is a LG-V20. One of the last smart phones to have a user replaceable battery. I am on my 3rd set of batteries and the phone lasts just as long as when the phone was new (Actually longer after rooting it an installing a decent battery conscious ROM). So I guess I am an outlier when it comes to electronic devices in that I expect them to last for more than a year and not be built to be disposed of in a years or so time.

I was thinking the rechargeable feature of these was better. Other in ear electronic protection like the Walkers for example have a number of complaints about battery life. I thought rather than replacing batteries every other week at $2-$5 a pop a rechargeable would be better. Mine would get used 3-5 times a month so I'd leave them on the charger on the bench. At least that would be the plan. Functionally did they work well enough ? I would not need the BT model. Other similar electronic models you could suggest in the same price range ?

    Nope, but interesting.

I use plugs under electronic muffs so I doubt I'll add these to the collection.

Do keep in mind that the NRR is from the manufacturer instead of an independent government agency.

I’ve had a pair for about a year. They’re great on the hot days. Depends what you want to do with them. They are good at the range and USPSA. Bad for steel challenge when you need to hear the steel ring. They cut out all sound once the shots start going.

I ended up with a pair of Walker R600's. They seem to work lots better than my electronic muffs ever did. Very comfortable. We'll see how long the rechargeable batteries last.
