Just got an email from someone who is fleeing CA for AZ. He's wondering what guns, if any, are banned in AZ.

My guess is that there are none, outside of those banned or restricted by federal laws.

    Enlighten me, please.

Best thing to do is read the laws in AZ regarding this.

Suffice it to say that as I understand it, if this person legally owned them in Cali, there is no problem with them in AZ since CA is so restrictive.

Let's just put it this way: Open carry is legal. If you can own it Federally, you can strap it on and walk around with it.

Only firearms banned in AZ are...hmm....waitaminnit, it'sll come to me....oh, gee, I guess NONE? No registration, no licensing, no waiting period, insta check, shall issue CCW, usual turnaround about a week or so, no magazine limit, Class 3 friendly, CCW permit NOT weapon specific, carry your legal Class 3 if you want, state pre-emption law, state is now pushing the newly passed law for firearm education classes in public schools, range time mandatory for passing, hmm, what else....no AWB, no purchase frequency prhobition, (no one-a-month), no restrictions on hollow point ammo for carry, ummm, I am sure I am missing something.....
Oh, we DO restrict nunchucks - can only be carried to and from practice at a dojo. Serious - well, we figured we hadda have ONE stupid law!

AZ has no restrictions that I am aware of. Your friend will like it here. Tell him he and his toys are welcome here.

I pitch The Arizona Gun Owner's Guide often enought that you'd think I were Mr. Korwin's paid spokesman, but I'm not. It's just the right book for questions like this.

Your friend also might want Arizona Revised Statues, Title 13. Scroll down to section 31.
