The Two Seem Very Close In Looks ,which One Does The Combat Role Best? The Eagle Has The Decocker On The Slide, the Cz Doesn't Have A Decocker .they Are Both Good Size Semi-autos. Which Would You Choose?

If you get the chance, try handling both. CZ does have many good qualities. A local gun store has a Baby Eagle in stock. I like the way it "fits".
I have not fired either one.
Enjoy the decision process, and let us know what you decide.

CZ85s are a bit harder to find than standard CZ75s. The 85 is the ambidextrous version of the 75. That said I would get the CZ85.

Get the CZ. The 85 only gives you ambi controls, so if you can't find one get the 75B.

    CZ 85B

Go with the CZ and you'll never look back. (Before you know it, you'll also have a SP-01, 83, RAMI, etc)

I had a Baby Eagle, and it was great.

But if the models are priced the same, I'd go with the CZ as it has a larger fanbase and better after-market support.

Interesting thread. I have always been under the impression Baby Eagles were a notch or 2 above CZ's in overall fit and finish.

    This is not the case?

Likely you would be happy with either. Had an 85 combat and was very pleased with it - my buddy wanted it so I sold it to him.

CZ owners may be more vocal. I wouldn't let a fan base sway my decision. I have e-mailed CZ about 83 availability, no response.

I had two BE's. The fit and finish on them was better than that of the three CZ's I replaced them with. It all comes down to the slide mounted safety/decocker. With the slide in frame design I kept accidentally tripping it.

I got a CZ 85 several years ago. This is a well made pistol and I have never had a malfunction. If you can get the real thing, why go for a copy?

I prefer the CZ for two reasons:
Frame-mounted safety. The Baby Eagle's slide-mounted safety is more difficult for me to reach without losing a proper grip.
Better grip on the slide. This pistol design doesn't leave you much metal to grab to rack the slide, but the Baby Eagle's smooth, angled slide leaves even less.

Also consider that the CZ-85 is the ambidextrous model and has safety levers on both sides. Some users here have found that their holsters interfere with or even unintentionally disengage the pistol's safety.

Just a thought. I prefer the CZ overall.
