Well I picked it up today but didn't make it out to the range.

Although I like the looks of the Pach's, actual performance will determine which stocks stay on the gun. Just from the feel so far, the factory stocks may be going back on to stay.

Now that she's home and I've spent some time (several hours) with her, some observations.

First; the double action trigger is HEAVY. I don't have a scale, but it is massive. Not creepy, and sluggish, just heavy. The single action pull is surprisingly crisp, and I like it very much.

Second; she's tight! I mean we gonna have some fun shooting this one in. This is my first brand new Smith & Wesson revolver (have had several S&W revolvers over the years, but none had that "New Gun" smell), and I think a couple hundred 250 Mags are gonna do her some good!

Third; As slim and trim as she is, she's a solid gal! This is by no means a light weight revolver. I don't mean to offend her, but she's a chunk, and I like it! The overall dimensions are comparable to the Taurus 431 in .44 Spcl ( the 69 will alllllmost fit in the Simply Rugged Sourdough holster that fits the 431, but not quite), with the 69 having a "heft" which the Taurus lacks. Have I mentioned I like it?

And D; The sights, although serviceable, are smallish (especially the rear) and will need addressing. Even when I had "young eyes" I had difficulties with traditional ramp style front sights, and these are no different. Perhaps in the outdoors and the bright of day it will be different, we will see. I can foresee a gold bead front and Bowen Rough Country rear in the future.

All in all I am very pleased. I am really looking forward to getting this beauty out and sending some lead down range.
