I carry strong side left handed with an IWB holster. My weak side I have an original Ruger LCP I carry in a Remora holster in my right pocket.
Do most carry there backup opposite side of their strong side weapon?

I am left-handed, but right-armed. Write lefty; throw righty. Which is my “strong” side? ;) Well, OK, my default “primary” handgun position has been at or near 0300, since 1983. Yes, a pocket holster can be a good way to carry an additional gun. Access to what would normally be the “support hand” seems, to me, to be ideal.

So can a good ankle holster, when one’s trousers are of sufficient length, and sufficiently voluminous. I am well into AARP eligibility, and have never had the best balance, so, I reckon that I am all the more likely to end up on the ground. On the ground, that ankle rig may well be more-accessible than some pockets.

An AIWB holster can be a good way to tote an additional weapon. I have not normally toted a primary handgun AIWB, but it makes sense for an additional weapon.

I carry my regular CCW at about 4 O'clock OWB. The only time I carry a "backup" CCW is when I go to church (like this morning), and it's in a side pocket on my Bible cover. No, I didn't get the idea from "The Shawshank Redemption" - I figured out all by myself that when I'm seated in church, a gun in the Bible cover on my lap is probably easier to get to than the one tucked behind my right hip. ;)

My backup is a Seecamp .32acp. I am right handed. Appendix carry XDs.45 on the right side. Seecamp sits in a pocket holster in my right rear pocket.

My carry pistol is a shield 9. I don't carry a backup handgun, but each of my vehicles has a Glock 19 (with 2 extra mags and a holster) secured on-board.

My backup is a Glock 43 in an ankle holster, or in my left boot if I am wearing those. Should probably upgrade to a 43X or a Sig P365XL.

Carry one Taurus PT732 in a Bulldog holster on the right hand side and another PT732 in a pocket holster on the left hand side.

When I carry a backup its a Glock 19 AIWB. Everyday I carry a J frame in my right front pocket and just because Im carrying a bigger gun doesn't make it less relevant.

When I carried a BUG years ago I kept it in an ankle holster. Inside leg, non dominant leg. I could reach it with either hand. I believe the principle importance of a BUG is the ability to reach it with either hand. Another option is to carry a small firearm along the waistline, opposite your primary but canted where it can be grabbed with either hand. I have done that with a NAA magnum revolver many times.

I haven’t carried a bug much. I have carried an NAAmini in my left front pocket. And I’ve carried a bersa thunder small of back, iwb (crack carry) in a left hand holster. I also carry a knife crack carry occasionally.

Used to be that when I'd carry a backup, it was weak side, front pocket. Lately I've been carrying it IWB at 10:00 in a RH holster for access with either hand. Figured out retrieving it from LF pocket with right hand required flexibility I don't possess.

Bring left-handed, my BUG is typically accessible by my right-hand. Due to carry safety concerns, it may not be as "deployable" as my primary, but I OK with that "risk".

Taurus G2C on primary (left) side, on the belt.

Ruger LCP-MAX, primary side, front pocket.

NAA .22LR 1.125" revolver, jeans watch pocket (right side), turned butt to left, hidden behind cellphone pouch.

There is also a knife on my secondary side.

I want to one day ditch belt carry for tucked-in shirts again, in which case the LCP-MAX would become the primary. Getting ready for this is the reason for this setup. A spare magazine for the Ruger currently rides on the belt toward my right rear, where it will stay.

I carry a Glock 42 in a Vedder pocket locker in my left front pocket. I draw and practice both hands strong and weak side regularly with primary (G29) and weak side one handed (BUG).

It's worth mentioning that I have zero issues left or right handed with the smallest Glock, its the only application in which I routinely practice one handed (left) almost 100% of the time.

ZT 4" folder strong hand accessible.
Sabre Red weak hand accessible.

I suppose you might say I've had a bad experience in Houston a time or two.

Cheers,
Daniel

When I was law enforcement I carried my BUG (one of them anyway), accessible to my weak side hand. The purpose being to get it into action if I was in a struggle over my primary weapon and using my dominant hand to keep it in the holster.

Nowadays I don't carry a backup. You can drive yourself crazy prepping for every situation and Murphy moment. I consider it enough insurance that I'm armed, have good awareness, and get home well before dark. I'm probably a much less desirable target than the multitudes of oblivious individuals walking around with their faces stuck in their $1000 phones with no idea what's going on around them.

In the waist around 2:30 and left front pocket. For years it was Two J-Frames. Lately I’ve been trying the Shield in the waist. 13E6991D-E45F-4E4B-83DD-93E4E0CB8096.jpeg

Primary in the left front pocket (I'm a lefty). Backup IWB or OWB or right side backpack pocket or backpack top pocket.
I'm strongly looking at a backpack shoulder strap holster, but I'm not sure if I want to go open carry???
I like to also place my Backup in a convenient location in the car while driving.

Did i mention primary carry always in my front pocket.
