Well, I'd like to begin by saying happy 4th of July to everyone--hope y'all had a great time wherever you were or who you were with...

As for me, I had to work (fortunately we closed early, but the range closed earlier :banghead: ) So I couldn't go try out my new M44 right away. Ah well.
Saturday, I found out that my uncle, a Korean war veteran, died of a heart attack when the fireworks started not too far from his home--apparently the effect of artillery in the distance worked a tad too well. He was a good guy, and I know where he ended up, so it's a sad occasion but not too bad, if ya know what I mean. Went to the range and let off a modest total of 250 rounds in his honor...too bad much of it was with my SAR-1 and my M44 :uhoh: I'm sure he'd be alright with it anyways. It's the thought that counts.
Sunday: typical day, except... Around 9pm, went over to a nearby club to hang out with a few friends, plus a couple recent acquaitances. As I get in my car, the acquaintances come up to me, needing a ride home since their car is supposedly out of gas. I oblige, thinking that "Hey, my friends know them anyhow, they spent much of the night talking." So, one gets in the front seat and one in the back, and the front passenger and I have a good conversation back to their place. I let them out, bid them farewell, and returned home...only to find out that my CD player and all of the CDs I had in my car were gone :what: . Knowing I had been listening to them eariler, I looked around, thinking I had maybe misplaced them when I moved some things around for sitting space. Nope. They were gone. I drove over to one of my friend's place, and tell him what happened and how I can get them back. His reply? "I dunno, I thought they came with you."

*sigh* Well, at least I got off work early on Friday...:(

    Look Dion...

I may be just a cranky ol' fart, but if your "friends" stole your stuff, it's time to kick butt and take names. I dislike thieves intensely.
I lost it a little on the 4th too. It was dark. I "smelled that smell" and ran around yelling "incoming"! Gotta go apologize.<sheesh>
