    Greetings!

I have a brass frame Pietta .31 caliber Remington Pocket Revolver that seems cranky about ball size. The first ones I tried were .315", and they barely stayed in the cylinder. Next, I tired some Hornady "O" buckshot, supposedly .320". These at least produced a small "sizing ring" when loaded, but still seemed to have very low velocity and showed a very thin driving band on the recovered projectiles.

What do you folks use for your .31s? What about "OO" buckshot?

    Thanks!

Have you mic'd the chamber mouths and the groove diameter of the barrel? It's not unknown for the chambers to be smaller than the bore and one might not get enough bump-up to obturate the bore.

    Regards,
    Joel

.315 are definitely too small. I had a double discharge due to .315's. Try some Hornady .321, they work good for me.

I don't know about the Remington .31, (never had my hands on one) but I fire .323 swaged round lead balls in a Uberti Colt .31..Hey, that's what Mr. Colt said to use in it and I have certainly had no problems... I have read where lot's of people on here stated they use 00 Buck..I'll stick with the .323....
