Ballistic gelatin test results : 7.62x54mm R Winchester 180gr JSP

    Cartridge : 7.62x54mm R Winchester 180gr JSP

    Firearm : Mosin Nagant M44 carbine with 20.5" barrel length

    Block calibration : All depths corrected (From 10.0cm @ 595 ft/sec)

    Single shot fired from 10' distance. Impacted at 2517 ft/sec and penetrated to 15.8" in gelatin and ~ 2.5" into a polyester bullet arresting box. Bullet was recovered at 113.4gr weight and 0.678" average diameter.

    JE223, you never fail to impress me. It seems that every time I have a question about a caliber or a specific type of bullet, I can always find it. Good work and keep it up.
