Barack on Larry King

Larry King belongs in the SBHOF, as the best pitcher, ever, period. Larry can't even comprehend the idea of a "tough question". Watching him and his interviews is a waste of time. IMHO.

RTKBA is a deal killer for me. I will not trust (read Vote) for a person to command the combined military might (read big guns) of the US Armed Forces, if they do not trust me to K&B mine. If they are unwilling to protect the 2nd then the likelyhood of them protecting the others is highly unlikely. As for whether any of the others can compete with Obama in a debate, well I would have to disagree. I think that just about any of them could. I have no doubt that he is a bright, well spoken man. But he has yet to have anyone put it back on him. When they do we will see how polished he really is. I cannot stand Hillary, and I am not a fan of Rudy, or Romny, but make no mistake they are Pro's. Except for Hillary they have played the game for far longer, and in tougher competition, and in her case she leaves very little to chance. She know the business and while she has only been in politics for a short time, many people feel that she was behind much of Bill's success. As far as who will become our next President, I personally don't think that he/she has announced yet. Fred Thompson will wait, let others push his name, and step into the ring after many of the others have bruised each other up. I imagine that someone on the Dems side might be doing the same.

Richardson/Thompson is also a non-issue because they have no chance.

only because you have let the main stream (totally liberal) media define the playing field for you. Check brain at door and do as your media elitist intelligentsia tell you.

Re. O's "pre-war" vote.....

I'll confess, I don't know much about the man....other than that every time I hear him open his mouth I want to :barf: at the inane level of "feel good" platitudes and banal rhetoric I hear. Nothing solid.....nothing specific....nothing he could ever be held to.....a TRUE POLITICIAN.

But what "pre-war" vote are you talking about? I didn't think this guy was even in the senate when the senate voted on the war in '02. Didn't he get elected in '04?

I'd like to know what vote your talking about.

To the original poster:

You said you are a 'world citizen'. That statement irritates the hell out of me.

No, you are a US citizen. Those loyalties/duties must come first.

If you feel otherwise, move the friggin' hell out of the US. US citizenship is not dilutable, fractionable or shareable.

(And for the record, I hold dual citizenship in great contempt. If you're holding dual citizenship with a country with whom we're having a dispute/war with, do I shoot you or hug you? Too confusing and this dual citizenship policy should be eliminated.)

Hey rogerjames;

How about accepting that gov't service SUCKS and that's why the gov't shouldn't be in business, especially business that private enterprises are already doing fine.

Why don't you ask your kid's teacher to give her extra assignments and stuff so that she learns as much as you think she's capable of? And then at the end of each year have that teacher write a letter of recommendation for her.

If you give up your RKBA what makes you think you will keep ANY rights later?

Obama makes Giuliani and Billy Clinton look pro-2a. That takes work.

As far as the other candidates having "no chance", that's premature. The election starts 10 months from now. The first Iowa straw poll (non-binding) is sometime around August.

I'm still undecided myself in this race. I DO know that I won't be voting for Hillary, gutless wonder Obama, Edwards, Biden, Dodd, spoiled rich kid Kerry, Giuliani, or McCain under any circumstance. That's a starting point.

I'm currently considering Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul, Jim Gilmore, maybe Tommy Thompson (need to know more first), and Newt Gingrich. If Fred Thompson is in, I'll consider him as well. Of those six, I'll lean towards who I think has the best chance to win.

As others have said, the man lacks any really hard debate experience. Hell even Dubya would hold his own in a debate with him methinks

I favor social liberalism (please keep the goverment out of my bedroom, and keep the church out of my government!

I believe you are confused. A social liberal wants dole for every conceivable purpose. A conservative would want no government intervention.

The ones who want religious control are not conservative by any means.

Ok, don't get me wrong....But I do not believe that America is yet ready to pick a president who is either a woman or an African American. And, before you label me as racists, (which I am not) I always have been a huge supported of Alan Keyes! (yeah, I know - He is out of it now)

Rudy, Barack, and Hillary are all unacceptable to me. It could be a tough year for good choices!

Why would you vote for Obama..............

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

.............when you can vote for Bill Richardson? He's a pro 2A Dem., whom people have actually heard of, which is pretty rare.

I would if Richardson ever got the Dem nomination and ran against Guiliani, McCain or Romney. But, as a Dem and center to right, he won't.

Cripes it's tough to find a candidate I can truly get behind.
  • Pro 2A
  • Pro Choice
  • Pro Stem Cell Research
  • Pro 2A
  • Pro GWOT
  • Let gays marry if they want... After all it is a personal contract between 2 adults. Why should the state have a say in this?
  • Anti Nanny state
  • Anti Socialization of any programs (Look at how our public education system has turned out fer cryin' out loud... You really want to throw your health care into the same hat?)
  • Pro smaller government

I truly hope that neither Obama, Clinton, Giuliani, nor McCaine win. I have a lot of respect for McCaine as an American and a man... though I don't trust him to preserve our RKBA.

I'd vote for Fred if he'd run. I know we wouldn't see eye to eye on everything, but I respect him and believe him to be trustworthy.

I'm not exactly certain as to where this means I stand within the political spectrum.

McCain is rated a "c" by the NRA last I looked - I can handle that. He did help kill the 'gun show loophole' bill as 'too expensive'. Compared to Obuma and Billary though hes a regular Charlton Heston!

billwiese,
If you don't consider yourself a world citizen then you must also think that the US controls your gas prices at the pump, and the cost of raw materials for building, manufacturing, etc. here in our great country of the USA, has nothing to do with the amount of material being consumed in China, or etc. etc. blah blah. Please take off your Captain Patriot Cape and spare me the great intellect that you have contributed to this thread. Do not presume that you are more of a US citizen than me because you fail to recognize your place as a citizen of the world. Maybe you're from another world! :neener:

I digress... but I sure hope that some others toss their hats in the ring because I honestly don't see anyone currently in the race that I could vote for.

Man I still say the way to 'cope' with a big-L Liberal society is to 'drop out'.

Don't ask them for money. Don't beg for scraps. Do everything you can WITHOUT them, and then legitimately feel righteous indignation that they're taking your money and giving it to others. They WANT you to line up and grovel and fight for the crumbs they throw back to you, it makes you angry at those who receive more payout instead of those taking the money in the first place.

This means don't expect a school to raise your child, to bring them up with values or to teach them how to learn or how to think. The best that can happen is that they do a mediocre job of it, at worst they will do a great job and turn your kid into a modern hippie-Janissary.

I saw the Larry King interview, and it was all I needed to conclude that Barack Obama isn't anyone I ever want to be the President. &*(%*$# Socialist!

If all else fails, I will write in Paul's name.

No suggestions for alternative? I beg to differ

None of you that have posted so far have suggested an alternative!!

Sure we have. We just apparently haven't suggested any that you think have a chance of winning...and while I can understand your consternation at some of the discussion here, the fact is that the election is still 19 months out and absolutely anything can happen at this point. The further into campaign season you take the attitude that Candidate X cannot win, the higher the chances are of that attitude becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. I'll admit, I am quite frustrated with the choices the media are pushing for the GOP as well, but forfeiting the game before it's even really started is no way to play the politics game.

IMO and im entitled to it...I think he`s a educated jerk. An awful lot of ...um , er`s and
Hmm`s and stuttering . A liar as they all are.
Cannot answer a simple yes or no question
without a long exasperating monolouge and still no answer. I smell bait on a hook.

I'd suggest checking out this man as a potential choice:

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/

BTW, its very hypocritical to have this quote in your signiture:

"Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions." - Albert Einstein

while mentioning this strategy on (of all things) choosing a presidential candidate:

Richardson/Thompson is also a non-issue because they have no chance. I am not talking about making a token vote.

Sounds to me like someone is incapable of expressing thier own opinion.
