Barrel interchange on Winchester 1300 Defender

That part is made to turn a 5 shot tube into a 7 shot tube. The problem with the Defender is that you can only use the Defender barrel. You can use the Camp Defender barrel which is 22 inches long with iron sights and screw in chokes.

You could always replace the 7 shot tube with a standard 5 shot but I don't know how as I have never done it.

I have seen that adapter some where else. I don't remember where. It's a great option to use other barrels. I was considering buying that model and the adapter before I got my mossberg 590.

The only problem I see is you might have to custom make a magazine plug if you want to hunt with it. But those are fairly easy to make.

I just decided to buy one shot gun for HD and one to hunt with. I have ghost ring sights on my 590 attach to the reciver. Too much time to take it of and put it back on.

Brownells sells the adapter which allows you to use a standard barrel. The adapter is a magazine cap with a sleeve which goes around the magazine tube down to the barrel ring. I looked into it, but decided that the cost of a new barrel and the adapter was not worth it.

Where? (magazine Adapter for longer barrel)

I tried Brownelles.com and got a portal to a whole bunch of vendors but I haven't been able to find the adapter you mention.

I did get a 28" barrel for $100 for my Defender 12ga and am interested in this adapter. I see a "stabilizing" clamp used between the barrel and magazine. I wonder if this would be a bad solution . . . Probably? I'm new to shotguns, as you might be able to tell.

:)

Thanks in advance,

Vladimir
