I started to shot trap league this spring and really enjoy the fun. Today I went out to the club to practice from the 23 handicap and met Bob and his two amazing sons. Bob and I talked for about a hour and watch other shooters and as they shot he told me what each of the shooters were going to do by just the set up they had. All three of them went to the line with me and gave me about a hour of instruction on everything from setup, routine, stance, balance, posture, gun chokes, movement thru the shot and changing wind conditions. Wow what a great afternoon. Matt is one of the Worlds best and works for Browing Arms as one of there full time trap shooter. Below is a nice article on the family. If I ever miss another clay pigeon it won't be because I don't know the right way. :) When I left the club all three were helping two girls with their game. Just unreal to see such a wonderful family with the passion for a sport they love and willing to share.

Good for you! And when you want to REALLY challenge yourself, start shooting Sporting Clays.......lots of fun!

Don't go by equipment to gauge a shooter's ability. I've seen a lot of crappy shooters with Perazzi's and such, and I am the only one at my club who shoots leagues with an 870 Tactical Magnum with a SpeedFeed III stock (handy for holding alibi shells); they don't laugh when I step onto the line. I worked with a kid at a Trap range when I was about 18, he shot with an old Iver Johnson single barrel field gun, and had a 23 avg.
