I fell into one of these about ten years ago and actually forgot I had it, then I couldn't find it and yesterday looking for something else I found it.

I checked it out on my range and it was within two yards at 600 yards.

Just wondering if anyone knows the military nomenclature title for a tripod for it. I assume it would say Tripod, M1916 Finder, Range or whatever.

My range is measured off with a 100' steel tape. After I posted that I got to looking at the manual I downloaded for it and I think I can make a clamp to hold it on a nice heavy camera tripod I have. Going to take some work and some time but getting over this heart surgery tomorrow morning is going to take some time.

I laid out primers, powder, bullets for loading my high penetration handgun ammo when I get back and will also work up subsonic loads for my 35 Whelen since I will be restricted to watching TV or puttering about my loading room.

Most users have a 'personal error' in assessing the correct range with these instruments and some people are better than others, these were usually selected for extended training for the role.
