Looking to get an ID on this bayonet, I believe it to be for a German Gewehr 98 pattern rifle, but there seems to be several variations that don't quite look like this one when I search for Seitangewehr or gew98 bayonet.

It's very long, more than 2ft overall length. Has a scabbard that appears to be the correct one. Has what looks like German military proofs. Reads "W K & C Solingen".

Can anyone ID this bayonet? Any estimates of value would be helpful too.

Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Companie, probably WWI vintage.

I'm guessing it's worth $200-$250, just depends on the market.

Is there a date on it?

Looks just like the standard S98 in my book.

Wow that's quite a lot. If there is a date it's worn off or illegible.
