BE-86

BE-86 is really nice stuff. It has everything I ever wanted in a gun powder. Once it becomes more common it will replace all the midrange powders I have, especially with the low flash that it has.

I used to cherish my Universal and still have two pounds of it but I am now coveting my BE-86 instead and the Universal is taking a secondary importance to me.
I still love my Power Pistol but all my important loads now are low flash, very accurate BE-86 loads.

For years I wouldn't use anything but Titegroup in my 9mms but now its a practice only powder.

My local LGS just got in 5 cases of Titegroup in, the first I've seen in a year. I walked right past it and thought, No, I have something for 9mm that is much better.
Lately, I've been thinking that I only need two pistol powders now. BE-86 and 2400 and I'm a happy man.

Guess we're going to have to start calling you BE-86 Tiger?

I have lots of Titegroup even yet. A little goes a long ways. I'll still use Titegroup, it's one of the most economical powders out there and it does a very good job in 9mm. I just like the low flash of BE-86 for more serious loads and BE-86 is very accurate.

I'm just going to be playing with BE-86 for a while now. It will replace my other powders for my self defense loads without a doubt because of the low flash, accuracy, and it does burn pretty clean.

After that lousy group I shot with my 9mm Shield when testing BE-86 I may need to change my name. That group wasn't that tight, not like my .357mag group was.

Strong statement there, TT I agree with you, the BE-86 works better than most.

It definitely found a home among my favorite powders.

I wonder how it will stack up against N340 and 3N37 performance-wise. It definitely kicks their butts in the cost department.

I've used all three of the powders mentioned; I think the BE-86 is going to be the better performer (I'm a big fan of VV powder).
Just loaded some 165g Xtreme 9mm & tested with my carbine; sub-1" group @ 25 yds. I don't have a chrono, but the performance is impressive IMHO.

I am waiting on an order of BE-86 from Wideners. Looking forward to loading some 9mm with it. Looks promising. Currently I load with Power Pistol.

BTW-I am new here, some of my neighbors turned me on to this site, they have been posting here a long time.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised by it's performance.
We have a slew of members testing it and all have reported very good results

I've only been reloading since March. My friends have given me good advice and I have done well loading 45ACP and 9mm. The Power Pistol is great, but I heard good things about the BE-86. Hopefully Santa brings me a progressive press for Christmas...

I reloaded many years before buying a progressive. It's one of my regrets.

I was astounded by its 9mm performance, not so much with .45 however. Think I need them a little hotter than I tried with 230 grain bullets. Havent had a second go at it with.45, am going to try some 185 grain Extreme flat points on the hotter side. Alliant does give some +P data for .45, but I am still working up the "regular" data.

I've only used it in 9mm; I don't load .45 ~ although there will be posts from folks trying it, I'm sure ;)
I'm thoroughly impressed by it's performance, even up thru the heavier 165g from Xtreme (ordered another 500 today with the Veteran's Day free shipping).
Looking forward to the testing with 380 Auto .........

Have not tried the BE-86 yet. I have a few pounds coming on Thursday too along with Bullseye and an assortment of primers!

I've only got one pound of it so far. Has worked great in everything I have tried at this point, so I am going to stock up on it when I get a chance. Since pistol powder availability seems to be quickly improving, I may wait until I see decent prices, and hopefully can buy an 8# jug.
