Bear Creek Arsenal

There stuff is generally good, maybe just a tick under psa but there cheaper. They make stuff for other companies as well some stuff that may even be higher priced ar parts. From what I've seen there warranty is fine, a friend had a barrel that just would not shoot and they replaced it. I've had a few barrels and they all shot fine. My last 223 wylde 16" barrel will do half moa with hand loads.

I have a BSA upper 5.56 10.5" upper that I got in a trade, instead of order direct. No problems with function. Cannot attest to accuracy as the sight that got traded with upper was crap. I replaced the A2 flash hider with a flash can and it did wonders to tame the muzzle blast inherent with short barreled ARs. My next build is going to be an AR-10 and I will not hesitate to get another upper from BSA.

Seen a bca 5.56 side charger upper the other day that had a 300blkout fired in it. Was surprised how well it held up, receiver and barrel stayed together, didn't see the bolt but the barrel extension look ok. Barrel looked fine, all parts maybe still junk but it held together. Bullet exited the barrel to.

I have built over 50 AR-15/AR-10s with varying degrees of BCA uppers/parts/barrels. In general their quality if better than it was a few years ago. My general practice with their stuff is to take it apart and put it back together to satisfy myself that it is assembled properly. They have been known to not properly stake gas keys, align gas tubes, properly tighten gas blocks and barrel nuts, etc.

It allows you the opportunity to learn how ARs are put together and function though, which is a great skill to acquire. And if you run into an insurmountable problem they do have good customer service.

Some of their match grade barrels are superb. Some of their cheap barrels are, well, cheap. As long as you are willing to take those chances/hassles the price is right.

I own a couple and a friend has built a few also, we both remove the barrel then hone the upper and shim the barrel upon reassembly, if anything I feel they torque their barrels at the upper side of spec or they use a form of thread lock, all our 223s shoot well with 62gr (IMI, American, GA Arms, all bought in bulk, and reloads) or above but both his and mine don't like 55gr cheap blaster ammo (both 20"barrels), our 6.5 Grendels shoot very well out to 600yrds. I usually wait for a sale and their stainless steel barrels are easy to clean, they package their uppers well and shipped them out quickly. My friend has purchased the side charging upper and something to think about is the extra step cleaning and what happens if the handle backs out while at the range or hunting, but it is nice to and easier to use with a scoped rifle.

BCA is a great place for high-value (excellent quality per dollar spent) AR bits. They are a rung down from PSA.

All my BCA uppers run just fine, after one new extractor that departed the rifle on the first round. For a 0-300 yard social work carbine, I'd buy again.

Most of their products are "budget" quality but functional. I've used several of their barrels for Glocks and AR's and they've worked fine, but when I buy such products I'm usually just looking for functional and acceptable not precision target accuracy.

Never had a problem with shipping or getting an order. Palmetto on the other hand has been VERY slow to ship in the past. I had one ammo order once that I realized hadn't ever shipped that was placed like 8 or 9 months prior. Had to email them and remind them about it to get it shipped. I think they may have improved a bit on that front though.

My experience is pretty much what had been expressed here. I bought a 450 upper from them a couple years ago. The only issue I had was the fault of the mags, not the upper. They are as accurate as anything else I own. For hunting it was a very budget friendly purchase, and certainly good enough for the task at hand.
