Recently picked up 2 brand new Becker knives made by Camilus. Yes Becker's are now being made by Kabar. But I've heard the originals made by Camilus can and will draw premium prices.

Well let me say these are pretty hefty knives WITHOUT being so large that their use becomes limited. I mean I've seen some knives that are more like medium sized machetes. Personally when it comes to a survival knife I like those full tang, sheath knives that lean towards the smaller size as in 8" blade give ir take a bit. These Beckers have heft from one end to the other although the sheath on one of them could stand to be better.

But these look as though they can be used to baton through anything I've ever had to baton through, cut rope, hack small trees down, fend off whoever and then sharpen back to razors edge easily.

Anyone have any experience with the Becker line?

Not the Camillus, but the becker Kabars are top notch for my field use.

Please post how the Camillus performs in the field.

I have the BK9 made by Kabar and its a fairly good knife. As far as the Camillus version of it, I have heard mixed reviews about the steel. Regardless, I am happy with my BK9 and it is indeed a do all type of knife.

Been using Beckers all the way back in the Blackjack days and have Camillus versions as well. I've handled plenty of the new KaBar versions at Ethans as we attempted to destructively test them. Couldn't break them without a vise being involved.

I'm about to pick up a BK14 with micarta scales :) anyone else have one yet?
