Afternoon all. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Benchmade Nimravus, either the plain or tanto tip ones. I am planning to purchase one of these (without the combo edge) for EDC but was curious about the steels used in these, and if these knives are worth the $130 price tags. I like the ones with the Kydex sheaths, not too sure about the molle gear sheaths. Any and all help on these particular knives would be greatly appreciated.

I have never handled a Nimravus. I do own a Benchmade Rukus folder. The action is smooth as butter and lockup is very tight. My first high end manufacturer purchase and I was very impressed. It is my opinion that Benchmade puts out a superior product at reasonable value.

If you perform a search here on "Nimravus" you'll get plenty of hits.

General opinion has been that they are good knives.

Of course, the real question is what do you expect to do with it?

Looks like a decent knife. I personally would go with 154cm,clip type point. I don't have a use for a tanto.

You didn't tell us much about your planned uses but.....

I take it your are going with open EDC? At 9.45" OAL that would be a bit large for me to conceal comfortably.

With my build and dress I find 8" OAL my max for weekend carry. My "normal" workday EDC are much smaller at 6" and 6 1/2" OAL.
