I have been looking for a Sheridan/Benjamin Pump pellet pistol for my son and it seems they are no longer in production. I had one back when I was younger and wanted to find one for him. What happened to them?

Crosman has actually discontinued it along w/the .177 and CO2 versions, so they're not in stock at many of the usual places. So if you want one, I'd say to get it now rather than later.

FWIW, I cannot see a way to add the HB22 to my shopping cart @ airgun warehouse. Might be my browser, don't know.

The Crosman 1322/1377 pistols are probably the closest replacements for that pistol. They are cheaper but still work well. If you want a nicer pump pellet pistol, the Zoraki HP-01 (available in 22 or 177) seems to get decent reviews. I don't know if there's any support for it in the U.S. though.

I didn't search far enough to try to buy anything...

I see the same problem you've had on the page I brought up; no: "Add to cart" page.

The Crosman 1377 or 1322 make a pretty good substitute for that HB22 pump up pistol. The valve functions the same way on both. I have one of the old 3377 dust cover bolt versions that has an impossible rear sight adjustment, sloppy trigger and awkward cocking piece but still bring it out when the kids are here to shoot RF silhouettes out to 25 yds or so.

Another nice thing with the current Crosman pumper pistols (same for CO2) is they enjoy excellent aftermarket support. Literally everything is available for them- to the point that a complete gun can be assembled using no actual Crosman parts.

I wonder if the 13xx line killed off the Benjamin pistol? Cheaper, probably just as accurate (or even more so) and easily modded. On the benjamin/sheridan rifles, the stock sights were not so great. Put on a williams peep sight, and they became wonderful. On the pistol, I think it had the same rear sight and there wasn't much you could do about it.
