Beretta 90-Two .40 or Sig P226R .40???

It's that simple. In a few days I will be the proud owner of both. I'm thinking though about getting rid of the one I like the least. I'm honestly looking for comfort (I have less than large hands), accuracy, and reliability (it's going to be my SHTF gun). So give me your 2 cents on the issue. What would be your keeper and which one would you throw in the "For sale" forum???

That's gonna be a tough call unless one owns both to compare, much like you're gonna have the_guilty pleasure of having and shooting..

Having three 40cals, 2 P229n/r 40's and a Beretta Px4 40, I couldn't be happier compared to other 40's I have shot with exception of a 90-Two 40 but I have shot a friends 90-Two 9mm with D-spring and it was surreal for an accurate, tight grouping shooter.. The DA was smooth, light, to me, and the SA break was clean, light, just like my P229's in both DA and SA.. and accuracy.

If it was for pure range shooting, and ccw, I'd get a 90-Two (it's a bit lighter) without doubt except for CA. does not allow them or should I say one can get one legally, but luck, being in the right place and right time via a CA. private party came knocking at my door, but..

Last, I have shot a LEO's 226 DAO 40cal and without knowing (at first) thinking it was a 45cal (it was already loaded) when he said ya want to try my DAO?, I was sure it was a 45cal (thinking it was a P220) as the recoil was mutt, more a push and the, light, balanced, fall-back-on target balance was there, in spades, IMO.. Awesome 40cal shooter, as well.

*My thinking, maybe my bet, as well, is you'll keep both..

in .40, i'd keep the Beretta unless it's really too big for your hand.

at one time i was thinking of switching to the .40 for duty carry. i had a Glock 22, Beretta 96 and the Sig 226 and 229 to compare. the Beretta proved the most accurate and smoothest operating (non-tilting barrel) of the group

due to it's locking system, the Beretta seems to soften the pressure spike of the .40 better. it has a huge ejection port and has a proven reputation for reliability (it a favorite of movie stunt people to convert to firing blanks)

i really like the Italdesign's work on the restyle
 
I have the 90-Two and its a very accurate shooter, more accurate than my Walther P99 or HK. If you dont have large hands, you'll most likely need to go with the smaller grip. It does not come with the gun, it will have to be ordered as an accessory. They offer two grips, but only ship the large with the gun. I think its around $20.00 at Beretta USA. I shoot it well with either grip, but seem to be able to grip it a little better with the smaller one. Also if you ever decide to do a carbine combo, the mags are interchangable with the Beretta CX4.

A bit off subject but I've got a 92fs, but I like the option of the rail with the 90-TWO and was wondering if the frame of the 90-TWO is metal or polymer?
 
Nice pics, Zebraranger! As far as carbine goes, I have a Smith & Wesson M&P15T that I'm pretty hooked on so the mags aren't an issue. It IS nice though that my old 96 mags fit my 90-Two. Also the 226 I bought comes with 5 mags so I'm loaded up either way. The 226 should be in this week so I look forward to doing a side by side comparison.
 
I own a SIG P226 in .40S&W / .357SIG, (just drop in a different barrel), and the Beretta 92FS 9mm. Both are great pistols, but if I could only (heaven forbid) have one it would be the SIG. The Beretta 92FS is a great looking pistol the 90-Two is its fat sister IMO. The SIG is not a looker either but it is all business. But it is your decision, I would keep both, or dump the 90-Two and pick up an .357SIG barrel for the P226.
