Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol

shot it some just because 😁
1st shot was 25 yards to center mass with a 9 pellet 00 buck, 3 in the heart, 5 in left lung, 1 flyer to the right hip

2cnd shot was 20 yards to the right shoulder.
ran the rest tearing up the target and busting a couple of jugs.
very smooth running shotgun

while cleaning it and getting to know it I noticed it came with an IC choke (improved cylinder)installed the product description calls for a MC choke (modified cylinder) to come in the gun, I will reach out Monday to customer service and see if they will send the correct choke

I recently purchased of the Ultima Patrol shotguns, only about 20 rounds through it so far but very impressed.

Looks like a great shotgun! I didn't know I needed a shotgun, but years ago I really enjoyed using a Beretta 300 at the Fort Leonard Wood trap range pretty regularly. I think I may need to find space for one of these.

That's a good looking shotgun and it's ready to go right out of the box .
My guess is that gun is gonna be real good to you . Smile buddy you deserve it .

well the Modified cylinder choke came in this week

so I grabbed the gun and a couple of 9 pellet buckshot rated at 1250fps and headed outside

first shot was 20 yards with the IC choke, gave me a paper plate size pattern witha a flyer low right
20241115_163203.jpg
swapped out the chokes and shot again for a pattern I can cover with my hand with one flyer a few inches high
20241115_163146.jpg
overall at 20 yards it wad a reduction of about 3.5-4" in pattern size between the 2 chokes, now defensively in my house my longest shot is 28 feet so either will work fine if it had to be used in that way but outside on out at 30-35 yards the MC will definitely tighten up the impact zone getting more of the shot where it's wanted

Only thing to consider is if you will ever plan on having slugs to transition to. Then the MC will typically be a detriment to slug accuracy. I'm generalizing here. Test it and know for sure.
Or if you plan to run shot only... you are all set.

I handled that gun in LGS when they first came out. The asking price was $999.99. But that gun is ready to go as-is. Add a sling if you want one and start dropping the hammer.

Enjoy the new toy!

In general there's three basic chokes.
Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full.

Cylinder itself would be no choke.

And yeah, I know there are other chokes.
Big Green used to supply the three basics with some models.

this is a heavy police load 27 pellet #4 buckshot @20 yards

24 on target, 2 clipped the left edge

got the shot cards put on the Beretta and Pardner pump, with the Beretta that gives me 22 rounds in and on the gun, my belt lays beside it so if I've got time to grab it too I should have enough to repel intruders for a little bit 😀

I did this myself. I picked it up Christmas Eve. I ordered the handguard and heat shroud also just because I like the look of it. Igot the aluminum barrel clamp and the side saddle. I’ve got way too much in the shotgun lol. Mines the police model so no choke. It’s a great shooting shotgun. I added a light to mine because I had it sitting. Going to drills picked in the side of the stock or maybe the spacer and install a qd point there. I hate the bottom. I’ve got about 300 rounds already on mine just getting used to the way the action runs and reloading it. I’ve started playing with ghost loading it the last couple times. I ordered 500 rounds of the Winchester military buckshot because it was pretty cheap and it shoots well

IC is the correct choke for that gun, the MC on the product page means Mobilchoke I do believe.

For home defence a cylinder choke will go in for maximum spread In case of multiple intruders.
Hopefully hitting two with one round.
For clays full choke.

Mine loves Federal Flight Control 00. My understanding is Beretta designed the A300 to work optimally with that round.

I love the camo/finish on that A300! what is it called? or was it a stock color option?
