I have the opportunity to buy an a 303 a a decent price, it is well used. It would be my trap gun as well my guest shooter sporting clays gun to compliment my 686. Looking to get people’s thoughts on the a303 model.

Very nice gun, low recoil. I shot one for a few months as a loaner from a guy 25 years ago. The one I had was a fixed full choke and I shot trap only with it, and it's full choke was several thousandths tighter than a normal full. I didn't have it long enough to see what had to be replaced periodically on it as far as wear like rings and O rings or if it even had an o-ring. I have slept a couple times since then. My guess is going rate on one is about $400 to $450 these days, been a while since I have seen one.

I bought myself a 391 20 gauge in 2004, a guy I used to hunt with carried a 303 20 gauge for upland hunting and I was impressed by it. I have not found my 391 to be picky about ammunition, it seems to cycle 2 3/4" light loads and heavy 3" loads and recoil is rather tame.
The Beretta 303 and Browning B 80 are not the same shotgun, the B80 is not the humpback like the old A5's but it isn't sloped and rounded like a Beretta 303, it has a sharp break line from the top of the receiver which then slopes down.

Owned one once, but I am a lefty and struggled with the safety that could not be reversed.... wish I had never sold it. Fantastic piece of furniture that shot great.

They have the reputation of being one of the best models ever produced. I have an A303 Trap which I absolutely love. Buy it. I think the trade value (that I agreed on....not official Blue Book) was around $600 five years ago when I got it.
