I am wanting a new handgun and I am looking at a Glock 9m or a Beretta px4 storm 9m.what about it folks?

JK. I don't know. Which one do you like more yourself? They are both great guns, so it's really up to you. I personally wouldn't buy a Glock because they are the ugliest guns ever made, but that's just like, my opinion, man.

I would consider a FN FNP or a CZ 75 P-01 over the Storm, but that's me.

Never shot a PX4, but you can't go wrong with a 19, if it fits your hand.

I really love my Px4, doesn't mean that its better than a Glock or various other guns out there, it just means I bought a Px4 and I'm happy with it.
Comparing a Px4 to a Glock is difficult because the two guns are so very different from one another. It really depends on which gun fits you better and what you're looking to get out of the gun. Both will function and perform well, both are accurate and reliable and both are high quality guns. I don't own a Glock anymore but I do own a Px4, one of these days I'll buy another Glock but right now I just don't want to.
So I won't tell you to get one or the other since I only know what suits me. If I could only have one and could never own the other I would choose the Glock if I could have both that would be ideal If I had to choose one for strictly range use I would choose the Px4 and if I had to choose one strictly for defensive purposes I would choose the Glock.
BTW.....Just to remind everyone, he's asking about the PX4 vs the Glock, if he wants other suggestions he can certainly ask for them, but until then lets stick to the guns he's actually asking about...

Take a look at the Springfield XDs they just feel good in the hand.
Do you want a sub-tiny CCW or a a fullsize frame better for range, HD, and compitition. or something inbetween.

Between the PX4 and the Glock, I would take the Glock. The PX4 doesn't have the extensive real life testing that the Glocks do. The Glock 19 is a favorite for an all-around gun. It is what I have in my truck. It replaced the HK (which replaced the Sig). The Glock 19 is my "if you could only pick one handgun" choice.

The Glock has a track record of being almost indestructible, where as the PX4 is newer, and a bit less proven.
But that wouldn't stop me. Shoot both, and rent whichever one you like more. They're both good guns.

welcome to THR, i would suggest that you try both of them out if possible preferable to rent and shoot them and see which one you like best and the one that feels best to you. i like the px4 ergo's they are great and i love the 3 dot sights, the glocks are hard to beat though, they are to hell and back reliable, and proven themselves time and time again in real world uses. the fact that the glocks have been out so long also will help out in the getting holsters accesoies and etc. i know glock mags for example are very well priced.

I have a Glock 17 and a PX-4 in 9x19mm...
Both are really nice guns. The Beretta is much prettier than the Glock and, unlike some, I actually like the standard phosphorescent glo-sights that Beretta is putting on them...
And the extended floorplate 20rd mags are nice too.
But, then again, the Glock 17 will also take the 33 rd mags of the Glock 18...
If I was forced to pick one or the other right now, I'd go with the Glock only because of it's proven track record. The PX-4 is just a little too new yet to see how it'll all shake out...

I've said it before & I'll say it again.....if you do a search, you'll find ALOT of threads on "Glock or brand X,Y or Z". If Glock has made its way to be some sort of standard, chose the Glock until someone else has proven themselves the new standard
IMO, of the Glocks, the G19 is the finest of that group!

In 9mm I'd get the Glock 17/19/26.
There's ALOT of Glock fans in this forum so you're probably gonna get a biased answer. My take on it is that the Glock has a track record for dependability and for being nearly indestructible. They're also fairly accurate by comparison. And last, they have a really high magazine capacity. The down sides is that the G26 I tried once I put it back as fast as I picked it up. The darn thing was really really top heavy. The center of gravity of that particular pistol was a decent amount higher than it should have been for stability sake. Also, the Glock trigger is famous for causing more than one person to scratch their heads with a bewildered look on their face. Mind you, it's no where near as bad as a Taurus trigger or a Ruger but it does take a little getting used to. Also, I personally think Glocks are really ucking fugly! There are alot of good pistols out there that perform just as good if not better than a Glock so don't just buy the Glock because all your friends have one. The PX4 Storm is a really good pistol too. I personally think it's balanced better than the Glock. I also think it looks better (but that's beside the point). The PX4 Storm may not have quite the following as the Glock, nor does it have the reputation of the Glock but is is still a really nice pistol. The down sides of the PX4 Storm is that many people with small(er) hands say its too wide. Also, the spring for the safety lever is WAY TOO STIFF for the first 500 times you use it so you might want to buy a weaker spring for it and stick it in there first thing when it arrives. Also, it has accuracy to compete with the Glock, as long as you can do your part that is.
In summary, both pistols are really good pistols and you WILL NOT be dissapointed with either one. Go to the store, pick up the one, then pick up the other, look at the price tags and make your decision based on your first gut reaction. All in all it's kinda like asking "So, do you want the red apple or the green apple?" They're equally good, just try them, pick them up and hold them and decide for yourself, neither one will let you down.

I've had a lot of different handguns - Walther P99,Walther P99C, Steyr M9, CZ 75BD, Glock 17, Beretta M9/92, Beretta PX4, Sig P228, Ruger KP-89, Ruger KP-93, Kel Tec P32, Glock 21, CZ 97B, CZ SP-01. Of those, the Beretta PX4 is hands-down my favorite. It's comfortable (for me), reliable and accurate. I've converted it to the G configuration (decocker only) so there's no manual safety to worry about. The rotating barrel system does a great job of reducing perceived recoil and the ergonomics are great (for me).
One thing to consider - the PX4 is a full-sized handgun and the Glock 19 is a compact. Make sure you hold them both and compare the size to your hand.
You can't go wrong either way, but I'd vote for the PX4 in a heart beat!

In all seriousness, I've shot both and carry the Px4 regularly. The guns operate differently. The glock trigger being one major difference. It's releasing the striker only IIRC, and the striker is not recocked unless the slide cycles. The PX4 is a traditional double action/single action pistol. The initial trigger pull both cocks the hammer and releases the hammer to strike the firing pin. Subsequent shots recock the hammer automatically so that the gun may be fired from the single action trigger position. The initial trigger pull can be single action if the user cocks the hammer. The trigger pull is the same every time on a Glock, but is not on a TDA. My px4 is about 9 pounds DA, about 4.5 SA by my completely unscientific estimation.
The Glock uses a modified browning operating system with a 'linkless' tilting mechanism, the Px4 uses a rotating barrel that remains (constantly in the same plane?) in the same position but is rotated by the locking lug in channels cut into the barrel upon recoil.
The glock 19 (17, others) have a steeper grip angle than the PX4. The Beretta has interchangable backstraps to adjust the gun to different sized hands.
Both guns shoot well, and are capable of VERY good accuracy. Both are very reliable in my experience, but my 19 trigger time is not vast. One thing I can point out that could be something you might want to consider...

Well it depends on the purpose of the purchase, Are you a collector? Want to use it as a concealed carry? or Home defense? both are great guns I own a glock 19 and 23, a FN five seven, Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm and a springfield XDM 40mm love them all as a personal carry I prefer the glock with a t-shirt and jeans, and with a jacket and shoulder harness i carry the beretta or springfield, I dont think you will be disappointed with either choice just make your choice of gun with the few questions I mentioned earlier, thats how I purchase my guns that way its no second thoughts or guesses, I did that with this smith and wesson SW40VE in a blurred thought and ended up trading it in for the glock 23 which was my first glock and I must say its a great gun, also both guns strip down the same way beretta is much easier since you dont have to pull the slide back a certain distance, so think about those few critical questions, also the PX4 has a lighter trigger and has little recoil compared to the glock, in best bet if your still uncertain just try to rent them or go to the shop and get a personal feel for each one, also you might want to check out a springfield XD!

Reliability: Had some issues when the PX4 was brand new. Possibly magazine related.
Shootability: PX4. Lower recoil and apparently less muzzle flip.
Field strip: Glock. The PX4 has a locking block that has to be dealt with during the strip.
