I couldn't find any mention of a release date either.

The market availability of the different models of the Rx4 Storm carbine differ from country to country. The 12.5 inch variant with removable muzzle brake, which has been primarily intended as a Police patrol carbine, is normally on sale in Italy like all the other variants, while in the United States availability of the weapon is limited only to the 16-inch barrel "Varmint" variant with fixed stock (either standard or with pistol grip), while the 12.5 inch model is sold by Beretta-USA only as a "Law Enforcement weapon", and all NFA rules apply to it, as its short barrel length restricts its civilian availability as a "Short Barreled Rifle" (any rifle with a barrel length less than 16 inches as described in the NFA Title 2), a category of firearms which is forbidden to own in certain States and that requires a BATFE Form 4 to be filed and signed by a local law enforcement official in addition to the payment of an $5.00 USD transfer tax

Correct me if I am wrong but aren't all Berettas imported and isn't there a ban on importing assault weapons?

It will be available (hopefully) with a straight stock, giving us Californians a 10rd .223 option.

That and Nina wants an Italian-American sister.

That its not just another AR like every gun company seems to be so interested in producing right now. I also like the sound of the ARGO gas system, very interesting feature about this rifle I think.

Nothing wrong with AR's of course, I have one, but sometimes its nice to have other things to choose from. The Sig 556 could have filled that niche but I think Sig really missed the mark on that rifle, so maybe the Beretta will pull off with the Rx4 what Sig coudn't do with the 556. Just speculating of course, at this point that's all anyone can do.

Personally I like the pistol grip version but I'm not a big fan of the traditional stock version.

Whats the price gonna be, anyone know?

They advertise it as having a solid synthetic stock yet they show the collapsible stock version, or is that not a collapsible stock:confused:
 
I had always thought that this neat little piece of work looked like a SIG 556 with Benelli furniture. Now I know that Benelli actually helped with the Rx4.
It looks like an interesting shorty rifle. With a sub $1k price, it could have a good market for those who want a semi-auto .223 but don't want to buy a high-end AR-15.
 
With all its government contracts for the M9, does Beretta not have an American manufacturing facility? If they did you'd think that they would set up tooling there so that they could get around the import ban.
 
Strange I find the Hi Point to be absolutely hideous, but yet I don't find the Rx4 to be all that ugly. Guess I just don't see the similarities myself. Normally I don't care for sci-fi looking rifles but this just doesn't strike me in that way. To me it looks more like a rifle version of the Benelli M4 which I find to be a very attractive shotgun.

Total Solutions for Law Enforcement. But not for the rest of you chumps! Cuz that 3.5" of barrel length makes it safe.

So why can't us commoners get the sporting version and put an adjustable stock on ourselves? I kinda like it.

And they were smart and had it accept AR mags. That's kind of a "must-have" if you want to compete in the 5.56 market.
 
It will be interesting to see how that rifle sells. For that price, you could get a medium- grade AR that has a lot more accessories and is probably more accurate... so it will need something to make up for those two disadvantages.

Personally, I don't see that rifle being made for very long...:uhoh:
 
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't 922(r) prohibit one from adding a flash hider and/or telestock?

Rumor I hear from Beretta is that there'll be a handful showing up in the next few months.

Personally, I'm thinking it's probably the last .223 carbine on the planet that I'd buy, but that's just me. Time will tell if the rest of the market concurs.

Nope Beretta has a manufacturing facility in Maryland where all M9, and now M9A1s, are built. It's a requirement that any standard issue US Military arm be built in the US. They also build US market 92s in Maryland since the facility is already up and running there. I agree that setting up tooling to build RX4s in Maryland and avoid 922(r) import restrictions would be the smart thing to do.

They do produce the R1 action (the action this gun is based off of) in some hefty cartridges, but I doubt one will ever make its way to this concept. Beretta doesn't seem interested in making this gun successful here.
