Berretta Model 70S

Does anyone know when production stopped on these fine little .22's? I have one I bought in the early '80s, and would love to have another to go with it. I've always wondered why they quit making them, since no one ever made a more reliable semi auto .22

Blue Book says the 70S was phased out in 1985.
I guess they did not want to continue competing with themselves on the DA guns.
