I've been using Berry's plated bullets for years and really like them, even though they sometimes cost as much as off brand jacketed. I usually like to order direct from the factory, as the shipping is free on orders over a certain $ amount.

Today I received my order in a USPS priority box, and there was a hole in it with bullets spilling out :( and the plastic ammo boxes were smashed inside.

I sent them an e-mail tonight and trust that they will make this right.

Has anyone out there ever contacted them with a complaint? If so, did they take good care of you?

I'm not sure what to expect.

A year or two ago, I ordered one of their large plastic boxes during the cold weather months. It came broken. I e-mailed a picture of the damage to them and got a call within a day or so.

They replaced the box but mentioned the cold weather was hard on their plastic during shipping.

The young lady I talked to was pleasant and helpful.

As an aside, I just received an order of bullets from them and they were not packed as well as I have seen in the past. No leaks in my boxes but the inner boxes were floating around inside the outer USPS Priority mail box. If you talk to Berry on the phone, maybe add that another customer's order was close to busting open.

Cfullgraf, not to thread jack, but can I ask how long the lead time was on your order? I order a couple weeks ago and I'm wondering how long my wait might be. I was thinking 6 weeks or so, but would love an actual data point.

Thanks,
Tom

Ordered by internet on 1/14.

Received today, 1/24.

I think the confirming e-mail after the order said 4 to 6 weeks, but i have slept since then.

I ordered 45 cal, 230 RN and 38 cal, 148 DEWC.

Thats great! Thanks. I ordered on 1/19 (though I ordered 9mm 115 gr RN - I guess there might be a longer wait on those...)

Anyway, thanks for the info.

OP, sorry for the thread jacking.

not to thread jack, but can I ask how long the lead time was on your order?

Ordered on internet on 1-11-13, received 1-24-13. At the time I placed the order they were stating 1-3 weeks lead time. They are now stating 4-6 weeks on their answering machine.

Looks like they only man the office M-Th, so I'll have to wait untill next week to talk to them.

Another benefit of ordering directly from Berry's (imo) is that because your ordering directly fromthe mfg, your order WILL get filled. Unlike some of the distributors out there, who can only hope that they will get re-stocked some day.

Most of the Berry's main staff was at the SHOT Show last week. I talked to them several times and they said it was all they could do to keep up with the orders. I placed a small ($700.00) order with them at the show, and they said it would be at least 3 weeks before any of it would ship, since they're that far out on orders.

Hope this helps.

Fred

I had a 158 gr .38 special round in my box of 115gr 9mm bullets. Luckily it was obviously not a round nose 9mm and I didn't try to load it. That was disconcerting though, considering it could have potentially been the same profile bullet but different weight, and I may not have caught it.

I would have been more upset if they didn't have 502 total rounds in the box. I sent them an email just to voice my concern but they never got back to me.

Berrys has always had good CS and communication. Jay said they got swamped at Shot and I would say that they are trying to play catchup. That is the disadvantage to a small family run business in times like this. They will get caught up and make any problems right. It might just take them a little time. They are good people.

I hope they don't expect me to count how many of 1,000 bullets ordered I received.

Well, when you load 10 boxes of 100 rounds, and there is one left, it is pretty easy to figure out.

Like I said, if I got short-changed or found a bullet that was the same caliber/shape but different weight, I'd be more peeved.

I just started ordering my bullets from Berry's. My first batch of 250 came in a priority mail box with very little packing material. The bullet Box was broken and the bullets were spilled out into the shipping box.

I ordered a few thousand 9mm and .45 bullets and they shipped .40s instead of the .45s.

No problem. I called and they sent out a return label and the correct bullets the same day.

I hope they don't expect me to count how many of 1,000 bullets ordered I received.

But then again, it would be a great project for the kids

I ordered about 3,000 Berry's in early December and got them in about 6 days....this panic must be hitting them too.

I usually count my bullets, but I am kind of OCD, I usually find I end up with about 2 or 3 bullets more than I ordered.

I've ordered from Berry's about 6 times now. Probably about 15,000 bullets, thankfully I have yet to have to test their CS, as all the boxes come to my house pretty much bullet proof and in perfect condition. Berry's stuff always gets to my house much faster than anything I order from Palmetto State Armory or Midaway, and Berry's is 800+ miles further away.

Wow...I just saw they upped their free shipping minimum order from $50 to $75, which has never been a problem for me anyway, I always order well over $100 at a time.

Berry's CS has always been great for me. I give them a call, tell them what I want and pick it up at their place, usually same day service.

Bought some Berry's, some X-Treme and some Rainier in the past. The Berry's and X-Treme were all delivered with no problem but the Rainier were shorted by 40 some bullets in one box of 500 when I loaded them about a month after I received them. Called their CS and they promptly sent me two boxes of 100 for my inconvenience. I understand with my own and others experiences I have read about that they all are great stand up companies to deal with. It just might take a while to get it remedied due to all the panic problems today.:)

Looks like Berry's is taking care of me... no hastle or fuss.

Seems like a lot of effort and expense on their part for want of a few extra pieces of tape and some void fill.

I'm still on board as a happy customer.

Glad to hear they are taking care of you.

As an aside, my mailman kind of complains about the "box of rocks" I get on occasions and my heavy packages have a reputation at the post office. By the way, it is a small town post office. i hope they do not get caught up in budget cuts. It is handy and the folks are great.:)
